problem my plants are 8 weeks in to flowering.. but i need to get rid of in the nxt week due to bolier broke so work man gotta come round!!! is this ok to do so...pistels have started to change red say 15% have may b more, there all a dull colour now any ways so what do you peeps think

You _cannot_ determine maturity based on pistil colours..

Maturity is determined by:

Trichomes (you want as close to 100% milky as possible)
Swollen calyxes
Receding pistils

And finally the overall look of the bud sites themselves and the entire plant.

Exactly. With a pic you could get a definite answer as a lot of indices are 8 weekers. But the description is vague. So it's hard to tell.
Can you keep them in a sealed closet for a day or two?

My quickest strain finishes in 60 days (8 weeks) I also have others that take 10 weeks... Depends on the strain.

I know at least 10 strains that are harvested with fully white pistils.
So your argument falls short, again.

His caps are clearly not to emphasize his view(in this I am assuming you are referring to his view on when to harvest, and not his overall point of view i.e. personality, thus making your statement nonsensical), but rather to what he meant in his original post, in which he was responding to a limited amount of information from this threads creator.

Hairs have nothing to do with the maturity. Do a simple google search and you'll find yourself some posts (not just here) about people who have almost, if not all white hairs at harvest. And, even though they are all white, their trichs are all either cloudy or amber. Now as far as that being strain dependent? I don't know for sure. But, telling him to come back when they're 80% brown/red/whatever, is not a good move, especially since the strain wasn't said. He could go too long and not get the high he was searching for.

Clearly since his post was a reply to me trying to 'teach' me what the OP said and what he ment / didn't mean, it was a rather arrogant way to put it.

I responded very calmly to his first post and his response was using caps to emphasize his opinion and thereby (in his own mind) make it seem more plausible.
The fact that you think my post is arrogant merely just suggests that you might be some random friend of his trying to help him out since he clearly fell short himself.

I did not point out any negative belief or characteristic by wbd to negate the truth of his claim (the 80% brown pistils).

LoL who gives a shit! Guys, this thread is about the OP'S harvest... WTF? I've just wasted a whole minute reading a full page of bullshit. Grow up already.

Sorry Masonbigbud, I know little of such things. I am currently running my first grow and its more of an experiment than a serious grow so I'm researching things as I need to. That particular facet of growing, I'll need to research later on as it certainly is strain dependent. If you know what strain you have all it takes is a quick google search, if you don't know your strain and you are forced to crop - I'd suggest flushing out the nutes then have a dark of 48 hours to mature them as quick as poss before culling. But more important than anything else is to research first as much as possible. Google is your friend

Hope you get it sorted as you'll need your boiler to keep yourself warm, never mind your crops lol

A few other options you do have is to put it in a sealed room upstairs so the smell can't escape and reach the boiler man. Or to put it in your shed for the hour or two that he's there. Or maybe your neighbour would be cool about plant-sitting for a few hours?
