I wonder how well the occupyWS will hold thru the winter...? Everything will change once those temps drop. I've really been considering the idea of going there in full camo hunting gear meant for winter expeditions. They need some good red state hillbillies up there to diverse the crowd further.

I have just as big of an issue with the extremely poor as i do the extremely wealthy, both are parasitic.

I've been dirt poor my entire life with the exceptions of 06/07, so, yes, I consider myself well informed of the habits of the down n out, and I've seen first hand vast misuses and downright fraud of Government benefits. Using wikipedia's 09 and 2011 statistics for SNAP benefit numbers the annual food card benefits are over 6,000,000,000 dollars annually, and increasing daily. This is ONE program!! Meanwhile, in the south fruit and veggies rot on the stem because migrant workers have left their jobs and Americans don't want the work!!

So. Give the rich tax breaks for creating jobs for the poor. As well, citizens and unions need to be more realistic about global labor competition and adjust their bloated demands. Everything would balance out. I may be naive for believing in such a simple plan but not because it's bad idea, more so, too many comfort zones would have to diminish in order for it succeed.

If anyone has been toying with the idea of going to WS shoot me a msg. I'll quit my minimum wage job for the cause.

Not only did it run someone over, the car then backed up so it could run over another person. Then the police let the car go without charges. Now the police have the protesters surrounded and are gassing them.
talk about twisting a story.

10000 and more bodies march in Oakland in support for the General Strike, Occupy Wall St and solidarity with the injured vet Scott Olsen.

The 1% has a tight grip on our economy, but we are here to take it back.

Debt and interest rates create wage slaves, I want liberty from capitalist oppression. :peace:

I don't support these idiots. My aunt would and so would all her friends. They would make excuses how Arnold Schwarzenegger had ten fuel cell Hummers. But they have environmentally friendly hybrids. So Arnold should be ashamed he's polluting. When I pointed out just one of their hybrids polluted infinitely more since fuel cell is zero emission and compressed hydrogen is renewable. They still fought back with Arnold doesn't need ten cars. They're christian too. Whatever happened to not coveting thy neighbor's ass?
While I do agree corporations need to go and the economy needs to be fair, I don't agree with their socialist to communist ideals.
What would make it fair is laissez-fair capitalism. But you only need government for one function, as a neutral watchdog mediator to allow the following:

1) Individual responsibility for a company's actions. They can be multiple partnerships, with each owner having equal or unequal voting rights. To have a partnership with one owner with 51% and the other 49% with the current system requires atleast an llc. That's not fair. Even limited liability is barbaric. If I owe an llc debt, I personally must declare bankruptcy for non-payment. If an llc owes me money, the founder and none of its members are personally liable the same as I am. That's stealing, unethical and wrong.

2) Individuals can't join together for the sole purpose of forming secret syndicates. This includes and not limited to, price collusion or product dumping. If persons are found guilty of said actions, the persons must reimburse others, including other owners they were trying to defraud and customers, including a extensive fine that benefits public works. If the offense warrants, jail time too.

3) Protection of the people from domestic and foreign invaders who plan or do harm to citizens.

4) Free health care for all citizens in order to maintain a healthy work force.

5) Protection and conservation of wild life and lands, air and water.

Everything else the government doesn't get involved in. No world police, no foreign aid, no sympathy towards illegal persons entering the country, no non-profits or other garbage I can't think of. The rest, the citizens provide themselves. That would be fair.
nice post.

question: i would think that someone who wants good health care for all citizens to keep the work force healthy would also favor education for all citizens to keep the work force educated and informed.

am i wrong, or did you leave that out on purpose?

Thats f@#king garbage man. I saw the video tape and the driver is seriously at fault. I dont advocate the guy that was standing in his way, but the driver didnt handle that situation well at all.
Got a link? I can't find it.

The driver hits the gas hard with a protester standing at his front bumper and runs his ass over. I bet the driver will be facing charges when the DA reviews the tapes.
I know they got his license plate, so it's possible. Doesn't seem like the police have any interest in pressing charges though.

I'm not sure how good of an idea "bank transfer day" is. I totally support people putting their money in non-profit credit unions instead of big banks. I'm just not sure it's a good idea for everyone to pull their money out all at once. We don't really know what would be the result of that.

The banks do.

Yeah, maybe it's for the best, IDK. It's just so hard to tell what the final result of that would be. Sure, it'd fuck up the banks. But what would the blowback be?
Its gonna get worse before it gets better. So you can expect some harder times ahead, imho.

How so? The guy clearly intentionally hit that guy. Sure, the guy shouldn't have banged on his hood, but that's no excuse to hit him. I'm not sure what you think is twisted.

how about the part where people are being gassed?

2 totally separate incidents.

i'm sure the driver isn't "getting away" with anything, ...

"Officers gathered information from the driver and witnesses, and now the Oakland Police Department will handle the investigation, Hartwig said. ...." http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2011/11/02/BA5G1LQ06S.DTL

considering the situation i think everything was handled rather well.

Aren't you guys glad you are supporting a movement that has turned violent? Isn't it great that shutting down the port in Oakland has hurt the "99%" that is coveted. I'm clearly not in the "1%" but I would hope we would all aspire to be someday. Apparently "rich" people are enemies of this state now....

Let the flaming begin!

The ones getting violent are police provocateurs.

Oh. If my post came off as those things being the same incident, that's not what I intended at all.

Well the car situation could have been a lot worse. That ended about as good as something like that could have.

But the other situation, where the police decided to shoot tear gas at peaceful protesters, that could have been handled better last night.
