They need the space for their planes to land safely, dude. And given that a large contingent of the Iraqi parliament is Shia, and very friendly towards Iranian influence, the issue would be a total non-starter. And yes, the US did transfer the air bases because Iraq does indeed have an airforce.

I didn't realize what a super powet Iraq has become, and how they are not controlled by the US. Israel has missiles they can launch from Israel into Iran and they have planes they can fly over Iran to bomb Iran with and in flight refuleing capibilites, but you think they would ask the Iraqi parlement to land planes in Iraq and ask them to use their airspace and that if Iraq were unwilling that would be a deal breaker?

Are you alright?

The point is that those planes, and those missiles would have to fly directly over Iraqi airspace. Furthermore, the range of those planes would require them to land somewhere before landing back in Israel. If Iraq allowed Israel to execute these actions, they would be responsible for any Iranian retaliation...something I don't think a weary Iraq would welcome.

Why would you land when they can refuel in flight? Do you really think that Israel is worried about flying over Iraq? Did Israel get permission from Iraq before they flew in and bombed there reactor?

LOL It's very different now 30 years later with Iraq as the USs pet. They'd have to get permission from the US more than Iraq itself.

So why would Iraq allow Israel to bomb Iran? Why try to refuel in hostile airspace?

How do you get the impression that Israel can just "do it"? It makes no sense.

Thats what i'm saying- were in charge of Iraq, even if we have officially turned over controll, were running iraq and anything they have or do or don't do
