Thick plastic-like leaves?

So I do not mean to confuse when I say plastic-like but thats the best way I'm able to describe it. I was wondering if this is a strain specific characteristic or if there is something that can be done to promote this characteristic. What I mean by plastic-like is that they seem to be much thicker, shinier and smoother. I've noticed some plants that have 100% of their leaves as I described and I've seen others that seem just like a regular weed grown outdoors. I guess what I'm talking about just seems like a fake leaf more than a real leaf. I've noticed my Jack Herer is two weeks in and the new growth as of the last few days is very shiny and plastic like and the other strains I'm running seem like regular leaves. I will upload a photo. My camera is crap so you may not see what I'm talking about. If you can't tell, the Jack I refer to is the bottom right. Also, theres a link to the grow in my signature.

I should probably add that the Jack Herer was sprouted in 2 parts Pro Mix BX, 2 parts Fox Farms Ocean Forest, and 1 part perlite, while the others were sprouted in 100% Ocean Forest. Also, I thought of a better way to describe it after smoking a spliff. I'd say glossy vs matte.

Plants have that look I think when all is well balanced. I got some clones from a club that looked like that. They still do but it's slowly tapering off.

Someone in another thread mentioned plastic like leaves and over watering. I find that to be incorrect. When they have this look they seem to be uber healthy.

Link in my signature. It doesn't seem to be a problem really. It actually looks much more beautiful than the others.

use 6500 K light, that'll do it.
I'm using all 6500 K T5's about 1.5 inches away from the leaves, same light on all of them.

Yeah, its a good thing, a sign of health. And also...i dont think thats jack herrer...could be but those leaves are a lot fatter than I remember them....jacks a straight sativa...any chance thats a mixed up label?

Theres a very good chance I mixed up the labels. I'm trying to get them sorted but I figured I would hold off on making any changes yet. This arrangement is the closest to what I remember but I figure I'll wait until they grow out some more and show more characteristics. I do know for fact there are the correct amount of each strain as I have labels so it's only a matter of picking them out correctly. Shouldn't be a problem, especially once they get big flowers on em. Any ideas on how to get it sorted quicker?

I was thinking about topping and scrogging all of them since I only have a single 1000 watt HPS covering 5 plants. Two of the others have started to produce the same plastic like foliage :D Thanks for the advice :)
