*HELP* FIRST GROW MH and HPS

Hey Guys,
So im planning my first grow for a while now. Im going to grow 2 Plants. So i got a 150W Metalhalide and 150W HPS. Also i have 2x 48 CLFs for the seedlings. So guys when do you think should i place my 2 Babies under the 150W MH and with which distance. Also is 18/6 a good light cycle or should i go with 20/4?
Also u have some advice for me about the MH and HPS?

Well Mika, with 2 plants i would keep the light 8"-12" away from them. You can also go by feel, use your hand to judge if the light is to close. When i grow in Veg cycle i use 20-22 hours light for tighter noding. Then when you switch to 12-12, then you can use you HPS bulb.

Sounds like u are on the right track. I am a full-spectrum grower, and would absolutely encourage u to use both of your hid lights during veg and flowering. Through my experiences, it has proved to be what they like the best and compared to splitting them up for veg and flower, as I used to do, I have gotten consistantly larger and danker harvests using both. And with proper ventilation, what kush714 said about spacing from canopy is absolutely on que. I have such adequate ventilation and temp control in my 4' X 2' space, with 6 big ol' ladies, that have all been fim'd and super-cropped, that I keep my 400W MH, and my 3-250W HPS, about 18-24 inches away from canopy and have amazing results. Just make sure your seedlings are at least a foot tall, and are going into "rapid-vegetation" which tells u they are mature enough to handle the increased lumens. If they are sprouted and have a couple two or three nodes, you should be able to go ahead and do it now. I put mine in the closet as two-three week old seedlings, but my spacing is adjusted alot further away than would be if they were older plants....

Wow guys you are amazing So i think i will place my seedling under the MH Bulb when it has like 3 Nodes Does the Veg Light cycle affect the growing speed?

Also guys. I wanted to ask if i need ventilation? Because my Room Temp is something like 63 Fahrenheit and if i put my HPS Bulb in there you think it will raise the Temp about 10F so i get something like 75 Fahrenheit? Or will it get hotter?

light cycle does affect it, i like to use 22 hours on just to get some extra growth. When in the dark mode, the plant tends to stretch (taller) more than grow new sprouts. Which in most cases growers like to stay short and wide, which in the long run is increased yield.

63F sounds low anyways, you want a little heat in your grow area. 75-80 would be a really good temp to keep it at. I like to drop my temps when i get close to harvest, 7-8 weeks i add more fans to cool down the area.

What size light you going with, 250w or 400w ? All depends on the size of your light, and also if you go with a ventilated hood you can keep the temps down easier.

yea, it will take you up to 75-80 right where you need to be. You will need to add a fan in there to keep good air circulation.

Wow perfect Im growing in a small bathroom in my basement. Its something like 6 feet x 7 Feet, but i will place it a Corner so the light is reflected from the back and side because it is a blank white room I though about leaving the door open and let a fan blow in to the room for (2 hours a day or something) for some air circulation.
