carbon filter question.

hey guys i am buying a 400 watt air cooled hps system with a tent etc, anyways i was wondering.. if i wanted to keep my place dank smell free [besides in the tent] would i have to leave the inline fan connected to the filter on 24/7?
ill be doing carbon filter>duct>cooltube>duct>inline fan>duc

Yeah for the most part you will. Not during the very beginning stage, but during flowering or heavy vegetative growth. If it starts to stink you can just put your inline fan on the filter and yes it would have to be on 24/7. Right now i only have seedlings in my tent and i only use my inline fan to exhaust heat and bring in fresh air and it's not connected to the carbon filter.

I give mine a 1/2 hour break at lights out and if it's off for more then a 1/2 hour during flowering it will just begin to start smelling up the house.
 
You can purchase a digital timer and set the fan to exchange air for say 30 min on the hour and reduce its actual run time to 12 hours which will help the fan last longer. but make sure the space is sealed if the fan is off or the dankness will escape
