They'll only need a little light...I believe that warmth is the main issue...

When I popped about 100 beans earlier this year in plastic cups, I germinate them in paper towels first then buried them in soil in the cups and left most of them in my kitchen... they got fuck all light but stayed warm and I didn't lose any... they all sprouted fine...

Looking good! it could just be because of different strain, but then again im not sure and it does look pretty healthy, how old are they?

Here are my babies almost 2weeks, one is alot smaller than the other and i think its because one of the seedling leaves snapped off, its leave looks a bit droopy so i dont know about that.

somewhere warm and dark.
I don`t know exactly how old but comming up on 2wks or maybe even 2wks. So i`ll just say 2 weeks as of know lol.
I`m just about to put some beans in paper towels and hopefully in a few days I get to put them into their new mini greenhouse. Will post a pic of it once they sprout.
I think I`ll just keep them here in my pc room as its constantly warm and gets some light. I can`t wait now. I want a few ladies in my backyard.

edit: I`ve just put 4 super crystal and 4 juicy fruits in paper towels.

ah nice, ive been using a tiny bit of superthrive so maybe thats why my bottom leaves havnt turned brown and fell off yet. Yea i recently ordered some g13 so going to germinate 1 or 2 more once i get those, these atm are northern lights.

Haha yea i cut the top of my pots off because spiders were living in them, yea looks like it, should be good to see the differences in progress.

Has anyone used growlush or JB ballast?

Not yet... I was gonna order some growlush gear tho...

I'm curious about them...

Apparently they are an Australian company... at least from what I read... And I'd like to support an Aussie company...

hey guys posting from phone. sorry no quotes. but min the firsts leaves are just reaching out for sunlight. also best 100% germ method is making a little shot glass with peat and some perlite and just pushing a seed into it. no need to presoak or anything guaranteed 100%. those soaking on paper towels and stuff are for the commercial grower. trust me planting it is best but keep it moist by moist if you just move the top layer a smudge with your finger the soil below is noticeably darker.

also using those methods of germing in paper towels until the taproot comes out really raises the chances of the seedling dying. plantingit directly into soil wont give it any shock. and you can just transplant to any medium when the plant gets stronger.

remember patience is a virtue when growing :).

I`ve got a 600w sunmaster dual operation (hps/mh) but haven`t used it yet. Mate of mine swears by them but did say that the digi`s are better.

I agree. I placed them in the paper towels but within like 15 minutes I took them out and placed them into seedling mix in the mini greenhouse.

I`ve never heard that either. But i`ve also never had problems with planting directly into soil.
But the part about less stress doing it this way does make sence.

Both seedlings where in full sunlight, morning and all afternoon. Their was no shortage of sun getting to the lower leaves which died. Maybe they got to hot where they were coz I had a small fish tank flipped over the top of then with only a inch gap under the bottom.

I'm not saying you're wrong about the paper towels method... but you're the only person I've ever heard say they make weaker seedlings...
Clearing throat, can you please link my supposed post where I say that. I`ve never said it makes weaker seedling by doing it that way.
You must be stoned already bud lol.

It's okay... I can see how you could have mistaken that as a comment towards your post mate and it is my fault for not actually directing it towards anyone...

Cool bananas, do you think my plants will be ok tommorrow in the middle of the yard to get full sun? Its supposedly gonna be a stinker of a day. Or should I let them just get the morning sun and shade in the arvo?
1 last thing, should i put a half cut 2ltr coke bottle over it? I don`t want them to die.

min8040 are you growing yours hydro or outside? i'm thinking of going 1 hydro to practice first then rest outside for the summer.

oh i think that answered my question, and i dont think put anything over it.. it will conceal the heat and they need good air flow. i have left mine out each day all day and they are fine, but im from melb... so not as hot as other parts of aus i guess.

not hydro, might put 1 in the full sun and 1 in the morning sun. Don`t wanna take the chance a lossing both. I will do hydro once my room is done and maybe once summer has come and gone aswell. Plus the fact I need alot more $`s to finish off the room aswell. I got a tent but no fans and filter so I`ll just do outdoor for now and when the time comes I`ll get the fem beans happening indoors.

I`ll also leave off the bottles aswell.

I`m from melb aswell and tommoz is supposed to be 30deg`s and I had 2 seedling die at 27deg. They were in full sunlight. 1 had a bottle over it and the other didn`t. But they both still died.

ah kool, yea im in the same situation haha, i still need to buy fans and finish it all. yea im thinking maybe the fish tank over them overheated and caused the death maybe, because mine have been fine in melb sun, but then again i have been home so i wet the leaves every now and then to cool them down, so yea hard to say really i guess.. but if youre not home, like you said try to find a spot that will hide them during midday, should help them kool down alot before they get afternoon sun, so yea probably the best idea just to be safe.
I guess less sun is better than too much!
