you could epoxy glue their doors and windows shut, door locks/car doors etc.
I wouldnt like to get on the wrong side of you Don, your full of immense revenge strategies. I wouldnt really like to take this to court, I have very little faith in the 'justice system' and rightfully so. Your other suggestions are very much valid though, I appreciate it :)

Damned right you wouldn't want to take it to court, you're the one at fault ;) You wouldn't be in there 5 minutes before getting kicked out. There is NOTHING you can legally do to obtain that money, you and your flatmates hold no contracts agreeing to how payment and whatnot would eb dealth with, it was all done on trust, this is never a good thing to do wieh it involves money, because if someone has no obligation to pay money out, generally they won't.

I'd say cut your losses. This is because of you, not them. If you move out, cancel the darn account. You set yourself up for this one :) It would be like me going away for 6 months and leaving the gas and electricity bill under my name and just assuming on blind faith that it will all be paid off properly.

Folk that try and get revenge on people, well i just consider those as people i would not want to have anything to do with :) they are lower than low.
Its not because of me! When I left I looked into putting the account in one of their names, Virgin Media only made it possible if they started another contract, something which was pointless for the remaining months so we agreed that I would continue paying it and they would pay me. Now theyre saying they werent expecting it to be that much, so I say 'what are you prepared to pay' and they say that they owe me nothing - theres no logic to them and they do need a life lesson. Im not so much exacting revenge as teaching them a lesson and effectively paying them £25 for the pleasure.

I agree revenge for something this minor is usually rediculous but these women would drive the most placid person to do something about it.

Revenge taste great...it's one of the best self gratifications you can give yourself. I just recently opened a FB account just to afflict my revenge on someone....sent a letter a shared it with everyone they've ever known....then I deleted my account because I hate social networks and people in general, except R.I.U.
good luck, fuck their world up...you'll sleep good afterwards.

You moved out of the building. Why was it of your concern whether the other tenants started their own contract? You no longer lived there, it wasn't your responsibility. What you did was you moved out and agreed that you would pay the bills and they would use the services. If you didn't sort out any form of legal protection to make sure they paid the money, be it through the landlord or otherwise, then yes, this is an issue of yours. They are under nothing but a moral obligation to pay. I understand you wanting to help them out, and i would do the same, but the difference is that each tenant has £400 sunk into a security deposit and we all have contracts. I've not had a penny for bills in almost 5 months now, i've paid em all myself, but i am legally guaranteed to get the money off them one way or another :)

I'm not saying that they shouldn't pay the money, that's only fair, but the only reason you're in this situation is because of your own actions. If you move out of a house, cancel your utility accounts. You are simply protecting yourself, it's generally a wise thing to do.

I will tell you how I got revenge on my neighbours boyfreind, maybe you will like it and run with it.

While still living at my parents home in high school, I was out having a smoke on my front porch at 2AM one night, and when I used to smoke I would bring the dog out with me so she could sniff along the sidewalk and such, hell its 2AM why not? I am smoking away, when I see headlights on my dog, dont think much of it just a car passing by, no. My neighbours boyfreind is drunk, and drives on the sidewalk (where my dog is) to get to the house next door. I see my dog jump outa the way and run up the deck, scared for her life. Dude comes outa the truck tellin me its a short cut he knows and its ok.

I say nothing to him, and call the police to inform them of a drunk driver, he loses his license etc.. that is not revenge, he almost killed my dog. While he was drunk driving he was in his pickup truck, but he also owned a 70's corvette that he loved. He has his own place about 30 minute walk or so away from where this happened. That day I go out and buy me a bunch of super glue and toothpicks. I mean alot of super glue here, in the biggest container I can get it in. 2AM comes around again, but tonight I go on an adventure with my new purchases. When I arrive at his house, his truck is gone, but in the driveway is a car, covered very nicely in a brand new very exspensive car cover, under his car port. I get to work, super glue + toothpicks in every lock, extra super glue in every lock. Every opening window sealed with superglue, tires flattened, and caps sealed with super glue, window wipers sealed with super glue. Pour the remaining super glue all over the hood + top + windsheild + rear window, pull nice cover back over car like it was never touched.

Revenge, llamas.

I agree that if i had a legal guarantee that just the threat of court action would resolve this, or that it maybe wouldnt have occured at all. It is a moral obligation rather than a legal one, your right but it is exactly at times like these that a more creative solution is required. I doubt I will ever find myself in a situation like that again, but if i do encounter something similar i will know to have it stitched up beforehand.

It does seem a little harsh man, I dont agree with drink driving but you are somewhat advocating double jeopardy here, I would have thought the police would have been enough, although im quite surprised anything came of your call tbh. If its a man, I know where I stand, it would have ended on that sidewalk in a brief fist fight most likely, lets face it, only if i was beat up would i take it any further.

llamas, do you understand that YOU nearly killed your dog? You suggest as much when you admitted "hell why not?"
A dog owner is responsible for the well-being of his charge, nobody else, 24/7.
Your dog was unleashed and near the street.
YOU were responsible. You relinquished that element of control.
You cannot have a reasonable expectation that every car will behave - things happen on and by streets.
You placed her in a position where, if this part of your story is accurate, she was "in fear for her life".
Your act of murder on a 'Vette only compounded your crime.

I won't even start on the hatefulness of dropping a dime.

Lol!! Now I'm curious, what did you do lol.
I went to a pretty strict school, got suspended for 2 weeks because I photoshopped (probs the wrong word condiering I think it was on paint 98 or something like that) a picture of this kid (Id obviously had a falling out with) onto a threesome scene, involving two big black guys if i remember correctly. I thought it was funny at the time (in a crude way) but when it eventually circulated to teachers at the school I knew i was fucked lol - as i said, still a little traumatised, it wasnt the good kind of suspention either, it was an 'in-school' suspention :(
