Thanks :)

hey i was just looking at your grow thread and you said u have homeade Co2 maker
, gonna research that a bit might be next adition to my box :)
That was a small scale grow I did last year in a small ass bathroom closet.. But yes, I always use homemade CO2. Currently I have a 400w HPS going in a 3'x3'x7 with 4 cloned ladies in their 2nd wk of flowering. I have four 2L bottles with the sugar/yeast concoction pumping out hopefully at least 1200PPM. I'm too cheap to buy a CO2 reader haha, but I definitely see results. Look at it this way, humans breath oxygen. Plants breath CO2, wouldn't you add more to help aid in photosynthesis?

yeah i was looking at the yeast/sugar method looks pretty simple and i have all that shit in the house already. my only question is how long does it last? will i find myself replacing yeast/water every day, 2 days a week?

i probally wont introduce that into the grow till i transplant the 4 and they have a few sets of nodes anyways, its kinda a wate at this stage of the game, they have enough Co2 in there, but as they grow they metabolise more thus increasing the amount of Co2 they can potentially use to make food.

Use 1.5 cups of sugar, and a 1/2 pack of yeast.

It lasts for almost 2 wks.

You can either run aquarium tubing from the bottle into your fan, or just set the bottle up on front of your fan with a small hole in the cap. Whenever it seems like it's out of juice, give it a little shake and see it erupt back to life. Its not like a 2L of soda that runs out of CO2 quickly, the sugar/yeast recipe last awhile.

cool thanks Mikey, i will probally put a small hole in the cap and just set the bottle on the floor in my cab, i have a small CPU fan located on the top of the box but it is blowing down onto the plant, it should circulate the Co2 tho just fine.

Update: 6/8 are doing well 1 had a difficult time with the seed casing and i thought it was shed but there was a almost clear membrane still trapping the leaves. i went to pull it off yesterday and accidentally pulled the lil guy up and broke the root, i buried it up to the first suckle leaves and thinking it will re root but i am unsure. if not i have my first winner of the BOOT!!!

couple more days ill number all the cups and snap some pics let the RIU community help me pick 4 to keep. im hoping to see indica/sative traits soon. not really sure what i want im thinking i want a sativa dominant because i really dont like couch lock.

and on a side note i germed 11 seeds, i planted the first 8 that poped. left the other 3 in the germination container and 2 more had cracked open and 1 remained un split. i soaked over night in room temp water and then placed them in a wet TP wad. i just looked at them (been in there for 6-7 days) and the 2 that had split had about a inch long taproot and the 1 remained unsplit, dud right? i cracked it open with my fingers and low and behold there was a small taproot and suckle leaves started in the seed and i bet it would have cracked by tomorow, almost 4 days after the rest of them have cracked, been planted and shed thier shells it still wasnt cracked but it definatly had some life inside. only mention this because people lose patience with things too quickly, most would have called it a dud and chucked it a couple days ago and some seeds cost upwards of 15-20$ EACH. so dont lose patience with dud seeds, maybe they need to be a little warmer or maybe their shell just dosent absorm the water as fast as other seeds to. :)

Nice grow bro. Interested to see how the girls do under cfls. I've seen lots of great grows with cfls. Check my first grow in Sig. If you have a chance. I'll be following yours! Sub'd

here they are, i know they a bit small still to pick but ill update daily. want to have 4 picked out by wednesday next week and get them transplanted and start training. not much to look at now /shrug

down to 7 one of them i just ditched was messed up and didnt feel like babying it when i still have 7 others and only plan on keeping 1

Give them a little longer then a week bro.

Even with minimal light, you'll still be able to see which ones are gonna be keepers.

I'd wait longer too bro..... I have a feeling being patient will be one of the hardest parts of our grows. Good things come to those who wait...or so they say!?

i dont mind being patient i just dont have the room for 7 plants in solo cups, if they arent well rooted by weds i will wait but if they are ready for transplant and have a couple sets of nodes i will be transplanting.

i know patience is a virtue and i def know how difficult it can be to wait esp 7-10 weeks into flower when them buds are smelling awefully nice.

i definatly thought about that but with the SCROG im gonna need to let it vegg for a bit to train it and get max potential and % screen filled

thanks for stopping by :)
the reason i say it is because unless you surround the plant with lots of cfl, u end up with small fluffy buds. 12/12 from seed is good because you only have one cola that recevies all the light instead of a bunch of lil tops because the cfl didn't penetrate deep enough to create big buds.
Just some food for thought i don't wanna tell how to grow.

this is how i grow w/ cfl

with the SCROG the CFL should hit all the nodes the same.
True.

I really don't mean to be a downer or a hater, but I do not agree with BeansF.
12/12 from seed should be SOG gardens that are looking to maximize their multiple plant gardens while keeping their mostly Indica gene based lineage. In Mat's case, yield is everything.. And vegging while LST'ng and SCROG'ng will presumably give the proper results asked from the start.

Beans does have some perty plants tho

but yeah i think his method is for another place and room, i do see what he is saying, instead of the SCROG just grow that main cola and will get a Oz+ maybe another grow. it definatly isnt a bad idea and would fit in my box

more supplies got 4 8" planters for next transplant and 1 10" planter for final transplant. also picked up some MG tomatoe food 18-18-10 will start them on a feeding schedule probally a few days after first transplant. as of right now the 8" pots will not fit into my box so im going to have to modify the box slightly to allow all 4 containers to fitand figure out a way to keep light leaks out.

first true nodes are starting to develop and almost all of thier roots have touched the bottom of the cup so im thinking they will be ready by wenseday like i thought. i want a decent root ball when i transplant them but i do not want them to start to get bound at all. the mix they are in comes out of the cup in a nice uniform block without roots so transplanting will be easy.

ill post a pic below. not much has changed though :)
dam card reader on desktop is busted so i need to upload from laptop. kinda a pain in the ass
