You should let everyone know that you use blackstar LEDs. So that your opinion doesn't seem so much like that of a troll. Yes Blackstar LEDs are worse than HPS. Everyone who is involved in LED lighting knows it. They produce more heat, and lower yields than HPS. Also if you take the time to actually spell out the word "Fucking" you might get some more respect. Good luck trying to win the hearts of people by being full of fear. Maybe instead of assuming that people are just going to be scammed you should try to direct them towards LED companies that have proven results, and attempt to steer people clear of ineffective units. Like your Blackstar. I noticed you complaining on another forum about heat and sound issues of your Blackstar. Mother Teresa once said something to this effect "I won't go to an anti-war protest, but I will join a pro-peace rally." Try to bring some light to all these people who are looking to people for LED experience. Be honest about your experience and the experience of others, without lowering yourself to insults and profanity. If you do use profanity you should mean it, and you should actually spell your words.this just in
HPS still wins an comes without fear of being scammed
you only gotta see all the shills that popped up in the spend all my money thread to realise the led forums are just gonna be filled with spammers looking for a quick buck going into xmas
led mod staff not knowing a fkin thing about leds doesnt help either
very well said here. finally we are talking advanced leds (not the brand ahahahahah)Oct 31st 2011 - Osram color LEDs
Osram's latest LED announcement is focused on brighter more-efficient light for applications in horticultural, stage, entertainment, and architectural lighting. The new Oslon SSL LEDs are manufactured with indium-gallium-aluminum-phosphide technology to deliver 10 to 20% improvements in light output. The biggest gain came in a 660-nm LED that Osram calls Hyperred. The LED delivers 400 mW of radiant power at 400 mA of drive current. The product will be especially useful in commercial horticultural lighting as we covered in an article in the April/May 2011 issue of LEDs Magazine, "Precise LED wavelengths spur plant growth."
Osram says that the brighter LEDs are especially important for reducing energy in applications such as horticulture where lights operate continuously. Luminaires can use fewer of the brighter LEDs to deliver the same light. Martin Wittmann, marketing manager at Osram Opto Semiconductors said “Our customers benefit from the large increase in brightness because it leads to much shorter payback times. In commercial horticulture, for example, lighting systems with these LEDs can result in huge energy savings and low electricity costs.”
Osram is offering the LEDs over a color range of 590-660 nm. The packaged LEDs measure 3 mm on a side and come with a choice of 80° and 150° beam angles.
obvious shillim a satifisfied blackstar user and i get the same or better yeilds out them than i do my 600 hps lights. To each his own. I will agree it is hard to be confident in the fact your spending 3-4times the initial cost to use leds when there is so much mis-information out here. The benefits are really nice if you get the right brand and the right size to meet your expectations. Wonka
I'm using Blackstars now and am happy with the results as well.... so who is the shill?obvious shill
gothem and lighthouse hydro using this forum to advertise has to stop
wtb led forum mod with balls , this kinda blatent advertisement will end up destroying the led section
2 blackstar 500 dont even come close to a 400w hps
Thank you, Dr. Leogets for that wonderful psychological profiling.so now its grammar
im not discrediting any company , im sorry that transparency and fact is something you seem so hell bent on avoiding while you dribble misinformation with every 2nd post
you sound very young at least in mental capacity
You're off your rocker if you believe that statement. 600 watts actual draw from a 2 Blackstars would easily exceed the yield of a 400watt HPS with identical conditions. There are grow journals with people getting over 1g/watt with Blackstar 500 watt panels, and with 2 of them you'd be looking at 700-800 grams dry... Definitely comparable to a 400 watt HPS.2 blackstar 500 dont even come close to a 400w hps
Talk, talk, talk....posting known industry shill threads only hurts your points
as far as dr leogets well i was a profiler for 4 years after my active field duty ended due to a well placed glock round to the knee cap by an alien in the triangle but im no true dr of course the upside to this is i own the same peice of land the injury took place on now and it brings me quite a nice income annualy
you may have heard of my totaly terrible strain 707 headband
you can only take a horse to water you cant make make it drink
exactly... you get what you pay for.I use 2 Blackstar 240's over 3 plants and it's nothing close to a 600 watt HPS.
It's not always the case, my friend; with some companies you pay a lot but doesn't mean they are the best at all. It's a tricky one with leds. A couple of years and we will see most panels being real goodexactly... you get what you pay for.
