Flowering Day 4 Am I in Trouble

So, I am growing two White Widows in potting soil with MG nutes and a 150 HPS. I just swapped to 12/12 and I am starting to worry. Before I made the switch I had some beautiful, green, healthy looking plants. Two days after the switch I noticed I was getting brown tips. Today I checked on them and I have brown spots on a lot of my leaves. I am having trouble telling whether I am getting white hairs or just new growth. Because of my work schedule I haven't been able to time it right to get a pic right when the lights go off. Can anybody give me a best guess as to what could be causing this. I thought it could be nute burn when it was just the tips but I stopped feeding and it is getting worse. This is my first grow and I am freaking a little so any help would be greatly appreciated.

We'll be able to give you an accurate answer when you get some pics.
In the meantime, I would back off of the nutes, wait for her to dry out a lil and give her a good watering all the way through.
After that keep her slightly moist until you identify the problem.

Ok. I have pics but with the HPS on they are worthless. I will get some up ASAP. It's brown spots on the leaves, and I am freaking !!! The last time I fed was about 5 days ago. My soil is dry on top but moist about an inch deep so I didn't water. All I did today was mist my leaves. If it isn't the nutes what could cause brown spots on the leaves ?

ok lets break this down into sections.

swapped to 12/12 from what? 20/4?

2 days ago you saw brown tips and now brown spots?... where? on the edges of the leaves? middle? see if this helps: Deficiency.jpg if you look closely, youll notice theres really no necrosis on the tips/edges of the leaves. usually thats a sign of over ferting (the leaf hangs downward, the heavy elements make their way to the tips, gather in number, and start to burn it.) the other possibility to brown spots all over leaves is bugs. thats something you need to check for.

Having trouble telling if you have white hairs or new growth: Day 4 into 12/12 thats normal. day 7 into 12/12 thats normal. hell, could be 2 weeks before you see hairs. but when they are there, you'll know, early flowering, the hairs are hard to see, perhaps just a few milimeters, but after a week or 2, they will stick out around and inch. either way, dont look for hairs, look for balls. even if you see hairs, keep looking for balls, on every internode, up and down every plant.
what you dont wanna see is this: male21.jpg if theres hairs, your good. balls its male. a mix of both, you got lady gaga and you need to snip the balls off (or keep them for feminized seeds!)

Pics hard to take cuz of work: dude ive come to realize one thing. turning the lights on for 1 minute to take pics and get answers that are closer to the truth is better than people, like me, guessing. hell, break off a fan leaf at the top, middle and bottom atleast, and take pics of those.

So yea: where to go from here: take pics. check pH. if you can check ppm, do so. if not, cut back a bit on nutrients (til we see pics). check for bugs. check for ballsacks.
good luck

Ok, lots of good info there, thanks. Your pictures don't do if for me because I am thinking it could be one of a few things. It started with brown tips and has since progressed to spots on all different area of the leaves. What I am noticing that you mentioned was the leaves hanging down some. I haven't seen any bugs, I would see them right ? I Started this grow with feminized seeds, so chances are I get females right ? I am gonna go get some pics, fuck it. Not knowing is gonna cause me a stroke.

A plant is not going to recover as fast as it shows probs...I say overnuting or bugs....you didn't mention soil, dwc etc....let her dry out...they can tolerate a drought much easier than a flood.....get a cheap moisture meter...or compare to a pot of dry soil for weight....

i have a mag def right now.. and thats how it started...since then i added 4.5 tablespoons of dolomite lime and 3 tablespoons of epsom salt in the first few inches of my soil and no new leaves are burnt.

thats a lil chem burn, those serrated edges are where the excess nutrients will accumulate, causing the burning edges. the leaves are also a dark green, so your running a lil heavy on nitrogen too, just cut back a lil on nutrients and youll be ok. the spots on there, that are scattered could be a trace elements deficiency, but if your using some nutrient with a varied amount of trace elements, then probably not.

either way, cut back a lil, give them plenty of water, and your good.

drainage is ok right?

Drainage is good, I used a perlite and soil mix. When I first noticed the brown tips, about 3 days ago, I stopped feeding nutes. Yesterday I added two tablespoons of epsom salt to my soil and I have just been misting. Today they seem to look better, but not sure if it's the salt of cutting back on nutes. Either way my babies seem to have perked up and I am starting to get pistils !!! I appreciate the help, and hopefully the spots go away all together.
