Pre-election, Obama said that federal funds should not be used to circumvent state laws on medical marijuana facilities.

When the Drug Enforcement Agency continued to raid such facilities, Attorney General Eric Holder announced that Obama's position is now policy, and vowed to end raids.

Look at CALI.... Has this happened?

Nope sure hasnt but it also didnt scare folks out of smoking/growing their own. they can try to intimidate the clubs but all it will do it give a kick start to the black market so they'll have an even bigger problem but they aren't the most intelligent people in the world...even though they are responsible for our wellbeing

look up this Patent # 6630507

I believe the government is stepping into take over the whole scene.... history always repeats itself...

Do you know why marijuana was outlawed?
marijuana in the States was outlawed so 3 folks could shut down hemp production to bring in their NEW product nylon after World War 1.... Hemp has by far more resources that we could use than nylon...

someone needs to do research to FIND the true reason marijuana was OUTLAWED..... This would bring surprise to folks if they knew the truth of the matter...

You should lead by example. There were many contributing factors. Harry J. Anslinger was a fed in charge of drug busts. His career wasn't moving fast enough with just heroin and coke so he advocated the illegalization of marijuana. In supreme court hearings it was referred as marijuana instead of cannabis which many people associated with illegal mexicans as this was shortly after the Mexican revolution, many had emigrated to America. There was also a man (forgot his name) that owned a sizable interest in the timber industry and lost many acres due to the repositioning of the Mexican border after their revolution. He printed a lot of the reefer madness stories because his fear of the timber industry being replaced with hemp. Senators and governors were telling people "it makes black men look twice at white women" and other racist things. They associated marijuana with the new unaccepted jazz movement and the black musicians.

See that is the problem.... Everyone knows this to be TRUE.... When it has nothing to do with WHO put the man up to the task of OUTLAWING marijuana...

Some parties have argued that the aim of theMarijuana Act was to reduce the size of the hemp industry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marihuana_Tax_Act_of_1937#cite_note-7http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marihuana_Tax_Act_of_1937#cite_note-under-influence-55-8largely as an effort of businessmen Andrew Mellon, Randolph Hearst, and the Du Pont family. The same parties have argued that with the invention of the decorticator, hemp had became a very cheap substitute for the paper pulp that was used in the newspaper industry.

well im definitely NOT shocked that the gov't is looking for a way to rule the market. which is all the more reason to keep it going. too many people get scared by what the gov't says they'll do. I think the gov't will have a hell of a time eliminating all the competition unless they pass a new law saying mj possession or cultivation is punishable by death lol.

The pothead side of me fully supports legalization. But honestly, the medical industry has... put holes in my pockets and I'm kinda excited Obama is going to fix that.
However, I am the exact person that these laws are supposed to negatively affect. If it's benefiting me? Who is it actually affecting? The common people that just want to get high and will now becoming to my associates in larger numbers.
A death penalty wouldn't stop people. It would just exponentially increase prices and profits.
