Which hood to choose?

Hey all!

Just been getting along with my grow, plants looking SUPER bushy, like little shrubs. But I ran into a problem, just threw the scrog net up and put the thermo ontop of it, it is reading 88f+ on the constant, so I thought I would need to buy an aircooled hood.

I have been looking at silver star ones, dimensions are either, 54 x 54, so quite nice light coverage 6" version, or the 5" version is 45 x 44 cm. The diff in price is only 5£ so I was wondering if it was worth getting the bigger hood and getting ducting reducers because I use 5" ducting.

This would mean I go from CF 5" ducting, reducer to move it up to 6", hood, reducer to move it back to 5", 5" ducting, then fan.

My question is whether the change in diameter of the setup would affect air flow? Like going from 5-6-5, instead of staying at a constant 5? Because if it doesn't affect it then I would like to get the bigger reflector since it has better light spread.

Thanks all for the advice!

p.s. if anyone knows how to make photos safe to put online i would love to start a journal here, just starting to fill up the scrog screen. thanks again everyone! :weed:

Lol thanks for the advice man :D, yeah I want the one which will be the best for light spread but without hindering its heat dissappation abilites, like I am not sure if changing the diameter of the tubing through the chain will affect its suction? :(

Light spread is not the only thing to consider when buying a hood. The giant ones have become very popular, but it seems like those in the know still tend to use the smaller refelectors for a more concentrated light pattern, rather than spread the light everywhere and waste it, they focus it on a smaller area, therefore making it much brighter.
