Why is this idiot spamming a cfl grower with so much hate? why don't you explain the extra wiring, venting, heat, that your lights create / demand? What of the extra cost, this guy has the lights he has NOW, mabe he dont want or have an extra thousand dollars to get the new lights / venting / fans? Many people can only use CFL because of thier environment and your ignorant hate spamming is not welcomed..

Was being sarcastic, with exception of the CFL wattage issue. It would be nice know if one 200W $40 bulb at Menard's etc is actually equal let's say 10-23W bulbs. Common sense says yes, but I've "heard" differently.

Well said! .... seen some good CFL/LED grows and in contrast a few shitty HID ones too.... its about many factors not just choice of light as you say TOKINGTIGER... Enviroment and budget being factors too... i can't stand the haters think the're way is the only way .... thats where i have found most of the shitty grows to be honest

ok fella ... i've not seen this one before... does it have any marking on the tubes or on the fixture? depending on what light spectrum that thing produces you will need to get more CFL's (or alternative- HPS-MH-LED whatever) you need 6500k for veg.... and 2700k for flowering... you can get the small 23/26 watt lamps and holders from hardware stores like LOWES or WALMART (us) B&Q and MAPLINS (uk) and you can get all these for very little money so get a few of each.... lots of info on RIU for putting these things together and using PC case fans for cooling

if you decide to go HPS (more money and equipment required)... then well don't brag about it cos you'll end up being hated like that prick brick top

How many plants are you attempting to use this for?. And I'll tell you off the bat, I'm not a lighting expert here. I use a sun room year round(long story), but your coverage may be an issue.

Now, how high to place the light?...I'm sure someone here can grow up for a minute and answer that question intelligently...lol

you can get that as close as you like .... as long as it don't feel too hot them thats fine... 2 inches is safe i would think it seems to have a defuser not sure you'll need that? but even so it should be safe 2" away
