Welcome back! Looks like u had a blast!
Thanks good to be back! I did have a blast. We really did so much stuff in such little time. Long story short we actually snuck into Huangguoshu with the help of a few locals and did it in the most dangerous way possible by traversing down this mountain. It involved tip-toeing on ledges, climbing under fences, scaling rock walls and jumping ravines. I would consider it the most dangerous and most exciting thing I've ever done.

Do you have any pictures of the dog before it ended up on your plate..?
No people don't find dogs and eat them. They go to a hotpot restaurant where the dirty works already been done and its just meat and vegetables in an a dish at that point. They have more dogs as pets than us Westerners do and would find it just as disgusting as us to kill and eat their pet.

So how would you describe it, and the scorpion? I can't even begin to think how that would taste.

Hmm, the scorpion was actually surprisingly good like a mild mix of lobster and chicken with the local spices. I would eat it again if it were served to me. The dog wasn't bad alittle gamey almost a bit sour. Honestly the dog is hard to describe it tasted like nothing I've had before. I'd eat it again though. The beetle grubs on the other hand were disgusting and I couldn't finish them as in I spat them out. I ate all the scorpions though.

Have you ever had goat..? I've heard that dog tastes a bit like goat... I'm not sure how true that is... and it's probably something I picked up from an old kung fu movie or something...

(I'm being serious about the goat and not playing off of my previous goat post)

Welcome back Neo! I see someone already anticipated the culinary highlights question. That roast dog pic is quite unambiguous. there was a "omg someone ate DOG!" thread ... I think it would be grand if that pic could be added to that thread. I'll let Shannon get back to educating you about the stunningly viral new RIU goat slang ... cn

Yes I ate goat skewers at The Great Wall. They tasted alittle like the drums of a chicken. They were delicious.

Wow... I've never had goat that tasted like chicken... In my experience goat is similar to lamb in flavour... but maybe it's just the effect that all the indian spices have on the goat curries I've eaten...
