Not ones with glassblowing, smot poking dads on RIU... ... :)
...
pretty much all that needs to be said about that.
Unless he knows you smoke pot, and is actively trying not to "Fuck up like you did" (Not saying you did)...
Then there is no reason for him to not to have.
There is more reason FOR him to have, since he probably smells it, and sees you happy on it :)

I believe FDD's son does not smoke cannabis since he is not of legal age to partake in a medical community yet.

Was that PC?

FDD since your son is 16 and you say he has never smoked ganj, what age is he allowed to smoke? Or does he not want to?

How about edibles? I'm quite curious.

Like Matt Rize I myself raided friend's parents stashes around 15 or 16 to get a couple bowl packs heh.
my wife doesn't smoke. she is over it all and quite bored with it. she has little to no interest. he follows in her footsteps. he is well educated on the subject and see's it's full effects. he is happy and isn't really lacking anything that pot may offer him at this time. as of yet he's had no reason to try pot. or heroin, or whiskey, or cigarettes, or oral sex on a man, or animal cruelty, or ...... just because it's out there, doesn't mean every kid is doing it. when he approaches a point in his life where he is ready to explore he will come to his parents and we will deal with it at that time accordingly. there are no "set rules" to being a good parent. you can't really say "if this happens then i'll do this." it just doesn't work that way. kids are young and need to understand. my son it not one to often say "but why?" it is always explained. he would never have to "raid" anything from me.

i am in no way comparing pot to animal cruelty. just trying to point out individual desires.

Yeah. Sometimes it's hard talking to parents even when they're totally down to earth all that jazz. I had a totally different upbringing it's hard to identify. Your son will probably go to Harvard huh?

That's how these things happen.

If we are talking a medical state I will withdraw all this, because that could be very true. He may wait until he is 18 for it :)

That's a huge jump...

Something like 1 in 3 kids in high schools ADMIT to having smoked pot. Let's pretend not even one more kid than that tried weed and didn't tell anyone they did. So 1/3 of kids HAVE TRIED it. Your kid is FULLY EDUCATED ON THE EFFECTS, has a happily married (assuming), happy pot smoking dad :)
You don't think a kid who's parents educated him, and who's dad is happily doing it. Isn't 1 in 3???? The other 2 are the hard core Christian/Athlete kid that got lied to about the effects, and the kid who watched his mom party herself to death.

I never smoked or had a drink of alcohol until I was 18. Once I started drinking and found out what the big deal was I was all about it. I smoked 3-4 times (and only when drunk at parties) before age 22. Then that's when I really started puffin. I have been making up lost time ever since.

I dont understand this. What does not smoking pot and having good morals and standards have to do with anything? I mean i understand hes your son and as a parent you wouldnt want your son smoking anything at all, but how does that really correlate to having good morals, standards, good grades, and not getting in trouble. I ask this because I started smoking pot at 16, never gotten in trouble, and I graduated high school 1 year early with a 4.4GPA.

he is 16. he's going to the movies and the mall today. i gave him 54 dollars. i told him i will match whatever change he brings home. i also told him if he found something really nice at the mall and bought it that i would cover that as well. he thought about it for a minute and then said ... "this might be kinda hard, but i like it".

:weed::joint::joint:

he's gonna have to spend at least 15 at the movies, if he wants popcorn and a drink. then maybe another 10 for lunch. that leaves him almost 30 dollars to play with. i'm kinda excited to see how this goes.
16???? what were you 50 when you had him?

Yes, but I bet you started smoking weediness while wearing your "young adult with same-age friends" hat, not your "aww geee Dad..." hat. cn

My bad for assuming, then! I was figuring that, like most of us (or at least most of me, lol) you began smoking recreationally with peers. cn

from what i'm hearing, .... my son smokes pot and then LIES about it. to me of all people.

what i meant was, ... if my son has tried pot i would know. he was raised "honestly", with morals and standards. he has no reason to lie to his parents, about anything. ;)
