Yeah go tell Uncle Ben that, he has some unreal plants that are fed 3-1-2 the whole way through. Don't suck the forums nipple that much, an EXCESS of N can slow flowering, 3-1-2 is not an excess.

Uncle Ben? Doesn't he sell rice?

3-1-2 during flower is an excess of nitrogen. to feed enough P and K means you need to feed more N too. A higher N ratio is the same thing as an excess of N. The N is more excessive than the P and K. doesn't matter if it's 3-1-2 or 9-3-6 or 18-6-12, the N is much higher than the P and K. fine if you use a bloom booster, as I said earlier in the thread. I even said it was fine to use that all-in-one nutrient alone and it probbaly wouldn't cause much harm. Imperceptible, maybe one or two male flowers that never produce any pollen. happens all the time.
It's not that the plant has more N than it needs, it's that there is a higher ratio than P and K in the medium. Flowering plants find this stressful, and as all flowering female plants are hermies a little bit of stress is all it takes for some to turn. One or two male flowers never hurt anybody, certainly never hurt me. Obviously never hurt Uncle Ben either... or do you believe he never gets male flowers in his grows?
