How do I transplant a Reveg in a fabric pot.

I Don't know how to transplant this cause of the fabric pot it is in. Its in a 3gal and I need to remove enough roots and old soil to go into a 1 gal fabric pot for reveg.
If I cut around base of plant in a cone fashion will that work?
I read up on re-vegging thread and says I should transplant to new soil and makes sense.
But not sure on how to go about it when its in a fabric pot.

Well the thing is I need to get new soil in it not just reshape to 1gal...........I'm thinking I'm gonna have to keep with the 3gal. And cut down roots to a gal somewhat. I just hope it doesn't die I never cut away roots before.

No, no, no. The key to successful re-growing is to minimize the shock to the plant. Having 90% of the vegetation removed
(my typical pre-re-growing prep.) is a large shock to the plant as it is without adding the increased trauma associated with
transplanting. After trimming the plant to be re-grown immediately put it under 18/6 or 20/4 lights for 4 weeks. I water every
day while the re-grows veg. After 4 weeks I switch the lights to 12/12. BONUS -- Re-grows typically produce 125-200% of
that plants original harvest. Honest, you will have many more, smaller nugs the second time around but the yield makes up
for it.

Sometimes I'll grow 6 or 8 different strains on one grow. At harvest I pick out the one or two of the group I like the best and
then re-grow those. A great way to stretch out the best of the bunch!

So don't transplant for a re-grow. If you really think a plant needs more soil just cut the bottom out of the present pot and
place the bottom-less pot on top of the soil in a larger pot. Make sure the new soil matches the soil in the original pot.

Good luck, BigSteve.

I kinda new all that from reading the reveg thread. Def gotta put them back in 18/6 right away. But I want to make this a mother and pull clones later. I read that new soil is a must and Height restrictions will not let me put another 3gal pot under a 3gal pot for veg cab.
If cutting out roots won't kill her but just stunt growth for awhile that's fine by me no rush on my time.
