Why is it growing new calyxes at 12 weeks? Blackberry.

I have a beautiful, thick nirvana blackberry from femenized seed. it is at almost 12 weeks flowering and all of a sudden it has started to show vigourous growth at the tips of all the bud sites. it is pushing out another 1/4 inch worth of calyxes and new white pistils at every bud's tip. i have also noticed one banana in a a bud that i quickly removed. do you guys think maybe the plant is trying to turn hermie and it does this to try and "reproduce with itself" because it has had about 5%-10% amber heads for roughly a week now and im noticing that the resin growth is slowing considerably. i have had one other plant do this and it turned out to look great and have no taste or high. it was a bagseed plant tho so i figure that could be a whole other ballgame... this is a feminized nirvana blackberry seed. it was grown next to a nirvana chrystal the whole time, exact same age and the chrystal has had no problems and is done already. so what the heck is my baby doin?? like i said... new growth at every budsite, new pistils and calyxes. even at 12 weeks into flower, wtf?? should i pick it guys?? i dont want it to hermie out on me.

sounds like its foxtailing or something along those lines, ide say the plant it on the verg of possibly being over ripe. i would pull, but a pic might paint a better picture

i c what u mean... i know i wish i could sho u guys damnit. i just dont have anything to get the pics on my laptop. and i cant get the lapotop in there to use my webcam... i can try i geuss. what exactly is foxtailing by definition... i have only a basic understanding of it. if its ripe, its not the most flavor full strain then, i thought the turpenes needed a bit longer. i geuss this particular plant just wasnt the best maybe... i found a nearly mature seed forming in a calyx today in one of the top colas. so it must have busted a couple male sacs somewhere. its got super thick buds, the best attribute of the strain. hope they arent under ripe if i have to pick them cuz its hard to pick a little at a time. ugh, 12 weeks of flowering to have this happen! what a bummer. my nirvana chrystal was a much, MUCH better strain. white castle as well.

I'd say chop in case it gets more seeds. 10% amber isn't too bad. Some people like no amber.

The plant will never stop growing until you get the N levels down or stop feeding it overall. Nevertheless if you didn't keep an eye on the trichromes the crop is probably ruined as you may have overdone buds covered with immature ones. Some strains take longer to finish though, especially if it's more on the Sativa side, so keep an eye on the trichromes which is what really matters and get back to us

.thats what seems to be the issue. i didnt realize a slight bit of sunlight was finding its way thru the cracks. sunlight is so strong that it only took the slightest amount of it bouncing off the walls to make my plants do that. after i got thru my stash of chrystal i found a few bananas in it too! so that proved it for me basically... ITS A LIGHT LEAK IN THIS CASE...

.I did pick it just a tad bit over ripe. that goes to show you, don't ever judge a plant by the color of its pistils (hairs). i let myself make a rookie mistake , took the blackberry a bit too long. It does a have a little bit of purple hear and there on some lower bud leaves, but no other signs of purple. I'd say its indica heavy smoke wise. it has a very mixed flavor that is complex and hard to describe, every joint, volcano bowl, glass bowl, bong etc... seems to produce a different taste. somewhere in between sweet, musky and earthy, and a slight tiny bit of sativa-spice. it was a FANTASTIC YIELDER!!!! certainly a 10/10 the smallest buds were the size of a marlboro pack! and even the bottom of the plant had resin all over it. its a great strain for yield, but i didnt love the taste. taste: 7/10 smell: 6/10 High: 8/10 yield: 10/10 Indica/Sativa: 70/30 could have been harvested at 11 weeks, i took mine to 13.
.
id only grow this strain again for the yield! its the most potent plant i can think of with such a HEAVY yield. so that's the advantage to this strain.
