My weed smells shit

This was my second year outdoor growing. First year AK-48 Nirvana seeds - plant smelled like weed when it was growing, when I cut it and dried it only had a grassy smell, when smoked the smoke did not smell like marijuana smoke at all.

This year again Nirvana but Swiss Cheese. 2 Outdoor plants, neither had a smell when they were flowering. Before harvesting buds just had a sort of grassy smell, not even a hint of weed. I trimmed, dried for week in loft, trimmed again, in airtight container and been curing for a month. I open jars and they still smell of this grass. I smoke it and it smells like grass. What the fuck?

I grew both in outdoor UK, due to bad weather harvested about 2 weeks early. On one of the chese plants I didnt use fert at all, on the other I used it regularly. They are still very potent, just dont smell right. Im thinking of growing a sativa strain indoors next time.

So what can it be? Weather? Strain? Curing? Is there any way I can lessen this grassy smell?

its probably gonna get better with 1-3 months of curing.

i just stick it in a small wooden cabinet, the strains that dont smell much when harvested, wont ever get pungy, but the grass smell does go away (unless possibly that strain simply smells like grass on its own? but i havent heard of that yet, lol)

1-3 month though. (at least)

the grass smell also happens when you dry too quick.

but yours kinda just sounds like one of the grassy smelling after harvest strains that get better with curing.

how long did it take to dry? is it over-dry? Indicas tend to be a little stinkier with a taste that stands out. Sativa more subtle in my experience though i like them better.

Week in loft, then another week few in semi opened containers. Now they are dry I open the jars for one hour a day to cure. The branch inside the bud snaps easily. They look and feel pretty dry.

Sorry to hear than man I had this problem with multiple harvests and it really gets better the longer you cure. I've had some smell like it wouldn't even be smoke-able but it goes away with time.

Just try to stay out of it for another month or two and you'll love it.

I grew outside once too.Thought i was a bad ass gardener.Fed them nothing but compost and manure tea's.Man i thought it was gonna be some good shit! Loads of big buds too! Guess what it ended up tasting like.DOH!!

I grew a random bagseed once that smelled like grass...It just did, and always smelled like grass, when growing, when flowering before cure, after cure...the strain I have been growing for the past year--Who needs variety? I do so I finally bought some more...anyway the year long strain smells like kick ass weed when vegging, and flowering, but when you put it in a jar it smells like grass, or rather like a jar that has weed and some freshly cut grass in it...that is how I know when it is ready---when it stops smelling like grass and weed, and just smells like weed...

Anyway, I grew both those strains. Came out great; the AK48 went from neutral to a piney, lemony smell after about a week of cure. The Swiss cheese smelled lightly of armpit while growing. After about a week or two of cure, it smelled like a skunk dipped in gasoline then rolled in FunDip powder. It was sweet.

You must be doing something wrong in your dry/cure. Slow and steady wins the race. Make sure the buds are properly dry when putting into jars, and that the jars have proper humidity during cure.

My buddy and I were riding our sand buggies in Louisiana and we came up on a bale that was dropped and floated to shore.This shit would fuck you up but tasted like dog shit.We even called it dogshit.Thanx for reminding me.He's a crack fiend now and I cant get him back to normal.If you say crack he starts farting.Lol.Peace.

try ordering seeds from a different site. maybe you got a bunch of retards. or try some nice bagseed if you can find some.

Usually cure helps, but if it gets you high it accomplishes what it was grown for right?

I've seen/smoked alot of BOMB ass PRoperly grown weed, and it had no smell, maybe a grass smell, But It smoked Very smooth and Very potent, tasted very good.

Next time dry the bud until the outside feels crispy and the stem bends and makes a noise but don't snap usually a week then cure in a paper bag I promise u will get a dank ass smell
