When to harvest and flush?

My vanilla kush is coming to its end and I am not sure exactly when I should start to flush it with only ph water (I heard it taste bad without a flush).

I also would like to know exactly how long do I flush it for before harvest, when should I harvest it, and if I should use a salt leaching solution like clearex salt leaching or just ph water.

looks about ready now...without something to magnify the trichs you'll never know...nor will any of us ;)

But you've got swollen calyxes and browned/receding pistils...2 signs of maturity :)

If I get a magnifying glass from a headshop how would I tell?

I also wanted to flush out the nutes for a few days maybe a week before harvesting, is it too late?

I'm leaning towards flushing being a complete waste of time... :D

You want mostly cloudy trichomes with a tiny bit of amber starting to show...thats what you are looking for for max potency...just take a look at a few spots and kinda average it out...try to avoid "new" growth as it will just keep on flowering and you'll never know when to harvest if you look at nothing but the very top until its too late :D

I'm moving away from the idea of the straight water flush myself.

I used to flush with plain water, but now opt to gradually cut back on nute towards the end.

Yeah I'm in the same boat...especially with soil...its got the nutrients it needs already in the soil...might as well cut it back a bit towards the end and save a buck :D

I flush when trichs are cloudy, turning amber, and folding 90 degrees. Then I flush for 3 days with ph RO water. clean tank flush for another 4-6 days with 50/50 RO and tap. Harvest top cuts and let rest go another week with the 50/50 mix.
Flushing is realy about the grower. Try both ways and deside for your self if yo even want to go that way.
