I'm waiting for the "Well guys, I made it!!!" post!!
I wonder if Joseph Kennedy's family said those same words to him? And what would happen had he heeded those words? Of course we all know that's how the Kennedys got their fortune. I see no difference between bootleggers, moonshiners or pot smugglers and growers. It takes an entrepreneurial spirit and a set of nuts to really make it in this world. The risk is commensurate with the payoff. I personally would not drive and bring it back, I grow it already here. But I admire the guys spirit and determination. And if he's smart, he'll get away with it. They actually only catch a pitiful amount of the MJ that traverses our roads by the cops own admission.this is how young people ruin their lives. if you are really so ambitious then get a job save some money and move to a medical state where you can make a living with weed. I am from MA but i now live in the southwest. it is a long drive from cali to boston and a world of difference in between. why dont you move to RI and start growing legally there. it is a much shorter drive up 95 from providence to boston and there are no check points in between. in many states they conduct driver safety checkpoint to check for duis or other violations. you could do everything right and never get pulled over but still get busted. have you ever been locked up before? this could have unintended consequences which could ruin the rest of your life. how much do you stand to make 30 grand? how much to you stand to lose, 5-10 years of your life as well as countless closed opportunities not to mention the money you would lose from the buy, lawyer fees, court costs etc. personally 30 grand is not worth the rest of my life as a convicted felon. whatever you decide to do be smart and think about the long term consequences. you said you take care of your bed ridden father and supply medicine to older sick patients. what would happen to those who depend on you. it is easy to overlook these things for the money but trust me you will make plenty of money in your life which you will end up spending anyway.
to compare this to bootleggin alcohol in the 20s is inaccurate. you are not taking into account the increased resources and technologies used in the current day drug war. there was also a considerably more widespread corruption in law enforcement and public officials. if you get pulled over these days it would be much harder to bribe your way out. i am not risk averse but you should know the risks you are taking and their implications. knowing your environment is a major way to mitigate risk. traveling across the entire country poses a huge risk in the unknown. if you are growing then you are familiar with your environment and can afford to make calculated risk because you would have foresight and better expectations of what could possibly go wrong. while i agree with your point that most rich people have amassed their fortunes through unethical means, it is much harder these days to hide or launder drug money. your comparison of this situation to bootlegging doe not really take into account what has happened to the justice and enforcement system in this country over the past 80-90 years.I wonder if Joseph Kennedy's family said those same words to him? There isn't one rich family that doesn't have a "history" attached to their money. They did something somewhere along the line, believe me.
corso, you are correct. this guy has no idea what he's talkin about.(although i'm sure he meant well). carry yerself like a man and you'll be treated like a man. thats my experience in the so called "big house"angs are about money
not sure if you are going for the scared straight angle or not..but it is you that have been watching too much prison television...i have been to prison and was it a nice place? no..but most prisoners are there to do their time and get the hell out..it is the lifers who play the prison politics and gangs are about money..mostly gambling and drug money inside...if you are a punk than you will be punked and taken advantage of...but the whole rape thing is way overblown..i am not going to say it does not happen but it does not happen as much as the public is led to believe...the mexicans are taking the prison system over.
Come on, man. you're needlessly asking for trouble without good reason. Like I posted on another thread somewhere today or yesterday. Maybe it's too late for you, but this may help someone else out. Get on freightcenter.com or freightquote.com. Get a free shipping quote right now. Buy an old washer or dryer off Craigslist. Get everything sealed up and put in there, then crate it up and ship it to your destination. Look under my profile, you'll see the thread i'm talking about, it has a link i posted that shows how to properly build a crate. I'm too lazy to dig it up now. You're talking probably $600-$700 maximum to buy the dryer, build a crate for it, and pay for shipping. Drop it off at a local freight terminal, or they'll even come to your house and pick it up which will cost a little extra. Fly to your destination, rent a truck for a day and go pick your stuff up at a terminal near your destination. I ship steel products frequently. It's unbelievably cheap. I really hope you don't have the low regard for your freedom that I sense from you. Being bounced around the system is HELL. I've put my time in, and I was younger at the time and I had a blast in there. Yeah doing time is something anyone can do, no doubt about it. But you start getting a little older and ponder on things, and gain precious perspective. You get married, have a child who looks at the world through fresh innocent eyes, then you look back at the time you lost, that meant nothing and institutionalized you. First you lost your peace of mind, you were uncertain and scared of what was to come. They took you from the ones who love you, and them from you. They turned you into a piece of meat, gave you a number, sold bonds against you into the securities markets, treated you like an animal, put you with people who didn't like you just because of your skin color and people you detested for the things they had done to others, fed you processed shit not fit for a human, made you wear clothes that didn't fit properly, compelled you work a job you hated for practically nothing, and the whole time of your bid and for some time afterwards you were a civilly dead person being administered under a probate court (the word "probation" ring a bell?). At the time it seemed like nothing. But it ain't worth it. I take it you've never been to jail. Maybe a DUI weekend or something, at most. Use your head, bro. That's what it's there for.You sure are right about the profit to be made, my cali connect gets "outdoor" for $900 a lbs! They're outdoor is whats called "blue" in Ma and goes for 225 or if its real quality outdoor you can sell it as something fire for 325 a zip. For those at home without calculators thats a minimum profit of 170 on every ounce sold or abt 2 grand off of 1 lbs
