thinking about a loft set up

Hey all,

I'm looking into to making a loft set up and want to know what the baest set up would be.

My plan is to run a 1000w ballast with a cool tube, have two fans in and out and also use a carbon filter.
A big concern for me is the eye in the sky but was thinking if I insulated the roof area in my loft and used a cool tube would this be enough to mask the heat signature?

If any one has any experience creating this kind of set up I would love to hear from you, e.g what type of insualtion to use, how much to use, if there is any other materials that I should also be using.

Thanks in advance

the eye in the sky isn't anything to be worried about in the USA. They can't use heat signatures to get a warrant. If they are watching your house for heat signatures, they already have a lot more on you then above average heat usage.

Basically right in the middle of the same type of thing, just make sure you are well insulated, mine is in an attic area and it was a bit tricky to dial in the temps when i had a 60 degree temp swing. but IMO its an awsome place to do it.

in the uk its slightly different, if they see the heat signature they will defo ne knocking at the door

i have read other posts and they mention to use IR insulation, perhaps if i use a combo of insulation in theroof, then cover the lot in IR insulation then cover that with some mdf. Then if I use a cool tube and vent outside I could maintain a good temperature. What do you think?

all bought from B n Q mate, 200ml carbon zero insulation £3 a roll, 1000gauge damp proof coursing £40 a roll (thick black water proof poly) thermal blanket £10 a roll.
i have a small attic and used 10rolls of the insulation £30, 1 roll of the damp proof coursing with enough left over to double layer the floor so that's water proof aswell, i don't have a final count of the thermal blanket yet as i haven't it yet (got a few hours left just adding the thermal blanket) but have gone through 6 rolls so far with a double layer making sure all seems are overlapped and i estimate another 6 which i have to finish it. the thermal blanket has an insulative value of something silly like 65ml equivalent to polystyrene and is only i think 3ml thick meaning that with the items listed above it can all be stapled straight to the joists making it an easy job mate, if you do happen to have the spare cash lying around it maybe an idea to measure the depth you have to work with ,with your joists and price up some kingspan insulation as it's also a very good product the reason i didn't was because i didn't have the money due to my attic having absoluetly nothing in it so had to board it out etc and couldnt afford to turn down the offer BnQ got on, either way you go mate best of luck and if i can help further just give me a shout
