How soon can I flower, to weed out males???

Hello,
Can someone please tell me how long I should wait (from seeds) before I can switch my plants to 12/12 just to get rid of the males? I'm not sure if there's a certain amount of time I should wait or a certain amount of nodes or what. I plan on switching the females back to veg as soon as I get rid of the males but my space is limited so I can't really just wait and let them run the full veg cycle. Thanks for any help!!

Thats nearly impossible without turning them herm, or really stressing them out. You can do the paper bag method, and just cover one branch for 12 hours at a time until the branch shows sex. I have never tried this, but I hear it works.

Take a clone from each plant, after it roots put it into 12/12 and then you will find out which are female and you can pull them out. Should be able to tell in about 2 weeks.

I did an experiment with this, taking clippings from the top, middle and bottom of a mother plant. I had a couple different 3 foot moms and the results from all the plants were the same. What I found was that the clippings from the bottom root much faster than clippings from the top or middle. The reason being that the hormones that a plant needs to develop roots are located more in the bottom of the plant. This is what I had read in quite a few different books and my experiment proved it right. I think that you can clone from anywhere on the plant, I topped a plant and rooted it with no problem, just took a while. Hope this helps.......

Yea I would definitely say it helped. If the cuttings taken off the top took alot longer to root, I'd be willing to bet the plants those cuttings would produce would be inferior compared to the cuttings taken off the bottom (that rooted quickly). I could be wrong but it seems logical. So I'll go with taking them from 4-5 nodes down...Thanks alot for your help!!
