Direct Buy = Stay Away!

Yeah. Don't do that. Your not going to get away with it.

Instead, because you are still innocent - dispute the charges and get your money back from the CC company. You used their money to pay for it, not yours. Remember, you have a very large multi-national corporation backing all your purchases. If anyone fucks with your money through a credit card, the credit card company will straight up go after them
lol how would you not get away with it? Could they actually go check the cameras? yea they could. Will they? Theres a bigger chance they won't. Just make sure your old card disapears, and you will be perfectly fine.

you guys wanted this occupy bull shit to work, not me. You want to stick it to the companies? RIP THEM OFF.

It's not about being shady. It's about finding loop holes and exploiting them. It works on computers, and it works in real life. Not everything is exploited, but some exploits were put there to be found.

So I signed up at Direct Buy from a recommendation from a friend.

I was expecting the membership to cost $100-200, but it cost almost $5000!!! Yes 5k!

So my friend reassured me that it was worth it in the end from all the savings I would get. Well...he was right up until I actually bought something.

The first thing I bought was a washer and dryer. It was $400 less than what I would have paid at a big box store, but here is the catch, you need to pay for shipping. Not the shipping to deliver it to your house, but to the store! Isnt that fucked? Anyways, that was an extra $250 for shipping to the store! So now I am saving $150. Then I had to pay to get it shipped to my house which was another $100, so I saved $50! Wow! They let you do a quick inspection of the washer and dryer, then pack it back up for shipping. The washer and dryer looked good from what I could see.

So I get it home and the washer was fine, but the dryer had a huge dent inside that I couldnt see or even know about until I turned on the machine. I took it back(paid a friend $50 to help me bring it back, so total savings is $0 now) with the receipt, but they said I need the "box". So I went home, found the box, but it had some water damage on it. They said they wouldnt take it back! But, they offered a repair team to come. The repair team came, said they couldnt fix it and now I saved $0 on a dryer I cant use or take back, despite having the receipt and being within 15 days of the purchase, isnt that fucked?

So the story goes, STAY AWAY FROM DIRECT BUY!!

Ha, ha. I've read these types of stories over and over and over. I think the only happy people with them are in the commercials. The other 10,000 customers are mad as hell for being stupid enough to fall for the scam......

Your friend didn't break your arm to get you to sign up. You thought that you were getting a good deal and you thought you were going to save money.

You were willing to use a friends account to save you $500. Now you're going to stick him with a $5,000 bill! How was he to know that the company was going to screw you? He is an innocent bystander in this transaction, he was trying to do you and himself a good turn.

lol, no I didnt pay with CC. They had a deal on at the time if any member signed up a new member, they both would get 10% off their next membership. So I had to sign up through my friends account. Anyways, I said sure and bought the washer and dryer, but i still havent given my friend the payment for the membership, does that make sense? Basically I havent paid my friend the $5000 yet for the membership and I am waiting to see if he asks me for it lol. He probably will and I will lose a friend, but he shouldnt have told me to sign up. He will be just as upset, but what else can I do?

He's not an innocent bystander.......he was already a member and knows the game. He's also reaping some benefits by bringing in new members. I'm not saying he was screwing his friend, but anyone with some common sense should know what's up. My feeling is: "You brought me here, you're also somewhat responsible".

It doesnt matter, it is all done away with now.

I also tore into the lady at the counter at our local direct buy, especially about the box issue. She almost cried, but I asked her how would it feel if you got ripped off for $5k. Manager came out and barely spoke english, so that pissed me off even more.

The friend that got me to sign up is an idiot anyways, he also got suckered into a bunch of pyramid schemes in the past.

This is what my brother did to Sears. He bought a lawn mower it never worked right, but he used it. Finally, he had enough with warranty repairs and wasting his time.

He waited until there was a lot of people there and created a scene inside the store. He never raised his voice, but he made himself heard. You have to stay in control of yourself or you'll get thrown out. He said something like, 'Do people here know how you treat them after the sale and that you don't back the products you sell.' Or something like that but he kept it up and kept repeating and repeating.

You have to keep the pressure on that person, when everyone is looking at them and wondering about Direct Buy. If done right a little crowd will come to see the show. I've only seen it done one time, but just like in the movies it worked. They gave him the option for a replacement or his money back. It was embarrassing to watch but it worked.

If you do this I would give them the option of losing more people at $5k or give you a new replacement dryer. Hint: They'll chose the dryer.

You need to find out when they are their most busy and when new potential member join, ie, promotional set time.

Edit: First I'd check with your states Attorney General you never know what type of action or file they have on them.
