Anyone ever had any problems with their child pooping in his underwear? My 10 year old keeps doing it and it IS DRIVING ME FUCKING MAD.

He says he cant tell when he has poop in his underwear but I do not believe him. HOW can you not feel it or smell it for that matter? Driving me mad. Or better yet, how can you not tell when you push poop out your butt?

Like are we talking full on nuggets, or are we talking just skidmarks? If its just skidmarks...might want to ask him every time he takes a shit to go back in and wipe his ass again...remember children are gross...I had to remind my daughter that repeatedly and the skidmarks finally stopped :)

You're not being a dick. I hope that he can work it out. A few good ass whoopings as not helped anything so its either A, he is lazy or B its something that may be beyond his control. HOWEVER, when I confront him, he says that its nothing like that(b). But a shrink may be necessary.

I'm usually not one to say whopping of ass is a bad idea...but in this case it might not be helping the problem if its a mental issue...just saying...

Well, I guess to go in to detail( which shouldn't gross any parent out) Its part nugget. NOT just skidmarks. I don't even see how its possible that he can't feel it. As in, I have to pre wash all of his underwear before I put em in the washing machine or it leaves peaces of poop in the laundry. Plus when he's sitting around it makes my furniture smell like poop, which drives me even MORE mad.

He might be trying to hold it...and hold it alot...I remember as a child holding back my shit for days...I have no idea why I did it...I just did...I still do it today at times depending on whats going on(like if I'm busy doing something and don't want to take the time to go shit yet)...have a sit down dialog with him and ask him how often he takes a shit...if its not once per day...tell him to go once per day...

did you ever think maybe he has a physical problem? you could have his ass looked at by a proctologist or something... poor kid. it's not easy for him either.

something along these lines. maybe not a shrink per se but a doc that's familiar with the problem and can rule out something physical. i'm not a parent but bed wetting seems to run rampant among kids in the family and the docs usually attribute it to some kind of stress or anxiety. pooping one's self while awake is a bit different though. maybe it started out as an accident and now the anxiety of it is making it worse.

I know, its not something that he has gotten a whooping over many times because of that fact right there ^. But he's not slow or anything. He's a very smart kid. Does good in school and all that.

I had an issue similar to that with my stepson years ago that basically boiled down to him wanting to play so much that when he did feel like he had to go he would hold it so he could keep playing and then not make it to the bathroom when he just couldn't hold it anymore.

Weird as it sounds you might try putting him on a schedule of making him go kill time in the bathroom every 2 hours or so he he regulates himself.

now that you mention that i have a buddy who said he did the same thing. he says in a fucked up way he really liked the feeling of holding his shit in and sometimes he couldn't hold it any more. sort of like the textbook freudian anal retentiveness. it may interest you to know that this guy grew up to be one of the most thorough hard working guys i know, although a bit of a neat freak. anal retentive indeed.

He may have a physical problem. But everyone has to understand this about me. I am a very understanding person. I do not know a single person who is more understanding than me. I have tourettes syndrome. So i was picked on A LOT as a kid in school. Had no friends. Had a brother is was so popular with lots a friends.Of course I'm a grown ass man now and i've come to grips with all that. And of course adults aren't as mean as kids so...

If anyone in my sons life will understand, its me. But he just acts like....I dunno, like he can't tell when it happens, and he can't smell or or feel it or...It kills me because I just can't believe. And I cannot, to save me life, understand why. ARGH.

not feeling i could understand if he had some kind of nerve issue. i have no idea why that would eb the case and i am sure it's not but not smelling it, that's weird! i hope you can work through it wth him quickly, just try to be patient and listen to him, pay attention, you will figure it out. i feel bad for the poor little guy.
