ok..im finished setting up my 4x4x6.5 secret jardin dark room II tent.. have in there a 6in magnum xxxl hood houseing 1000 watters,1 phat carbon filter..6inx24in i belive and 1 6in vortex fan hauling air thru the carbon filter, hood and out the top.

for intake i have a home grown intake filter with a vortex 6in fan inside to push air in.
both vortex are connected to a speedster, for intake is a must!

the hood also rock a heat shield cover and a super spreader under the bulb.

i currently have 1 lil blizzard 8 in fan mounted to the tent pole..ill be installing a second fan once cash rolls in.

i want to run a co2 tank..is it worth it for such small space running inddor exhaust?

if so,what do i need to do so? ive done research but didnt find my answer,or else i woudnt be asking right? this goes to all the smarty pants who know it all..save your smart answers pls.

i def want to run a 20lb c02 tank, but how again..i know i needs a regulator, what else, and how much am i looking to spend? total in parts not refills

thanks for the like and the compliment..i would really like to boost this set up with co2,ill have the cash to do so,so why not!..besides a regulator, what else would i need..i keep seeing this over the head price enviromental monitors that do more than what i want/need...would i need to monitor the ppm in the air? would i be over killing, worst losing all my c02 due to the exhaust set up? i plan on starting my grow soon,

i think i have figured out what parts i need..now! how could i run c02 in my tent, will i need to move things around in there..cmon peeps..i wasnt born knowing everthing and still cant google score my last question eather. how will i need to run c02 to get the best results from it?....im thinking its a bad idea aready..maybe the buying the 600.00 plus parts and not beeing able to use them after all sounds kind of scary aready...will see if some one chimes in

Start out with a bottle, regulator and a 15min incriment timer. I would say for a little tent set your flow to 1scfh and have it come on for 15 mins every hour during lights on. It won't be 1500ppm but it will be helpful. Then down the line you can buy the 500 dollar controller to really dial it in.

150 (tank) 150 (regulator) 15 (timer)

I'm sorry I can't answer your question your avatar is too distracting/attracting!

I have a similar setup to you (3 x 3 x 5.3 secret jardin tent) but not looking for the extra expense of CO2 supplementation, curious to see any advice you receive though so I'm subbed in.

Why so much CFM for such a small tent? by my quick calculations you've got 96 cubic feet of space and those 6" vectors move 400+ CFM's from what I remember from my local hydro shop. I'm running a 4" vector

Hes got 1000w in a tent, idk, I think a 450 cfm is reasonable. Maybe a lil more then u need, but also a carbon filter dragging it down so it's a good thing if u ask me.

yes..i aready had the (2 ) 6in vortex fans and that 1000w gets hot! ill be running it at night when the temps reach 54,the highest beeing 64,i think ill be fine when it comes down to temps.
ive also heard the radiant hood shields DO lower the temp by 10/15 degrees so i feel it was worth the 70.00 clams. if you guys can see the magnum xxxl is HUGE! leaving me with very lil room to add an extra fan tool work out the scruber and hood seperatly. placeing the fan outside the tent is out the pic,due to stealth reasons. no to mention my quaters are very small leaving me no choice but to place the tent in one corner blocking the two ports on the left side.
i did forget to mention the tent is aready holding up some 80/85 pnds with the custom brackets i HAD to make just to get the job done,i dont want to risk adding more weight.

i like the idea of running a c02 tank with just a regulator and timer..

someguy! i have a question for you regarding an idea i just got..i seen some axial fans that can pull just as much air as a vortex. beeing that im very limited to weight and space i was thinking of adding one for the carbon exhaust alone and settting it to come on when the c02 is off..i belive that how mos peps run there c02. what ya guys think..

canuck!..thats a picture of my wife..ill trade ya her for a zip of top shelf...lol

one thing i saw that with the exhaust fan alone it suxs the walls of the tent right in,powerfull YES! i added my second fan inside the intake filter hooked to a speedster to lower down the fan,ive also added one to the exhaust fan so when the lights come off i can lower the speed down on both fans, maybe run the exhaust at half ways and shutt off the intake, ill have to test that idea out. ive seens some good deals on craigslist regarding c02 tanks. i saw one/20 lbs full for 90.00.(aluminum tank)
there are some good deals on there to be had..picked my quantum badboy 4x8 bulb almost new for 125.00..

Just be careful about where you get the tank, not all suppliers will let you use any tank you want. Most want you to buy their tank and then return for refills. Fan inside for stealth? My vortex6 is loud as hell dunno about u, but u have 2 of them. and I know the speedsters make the fans 'growl' more...anyway. I would avoid axial with carbon filter, they don't pull enough pressure to really make a filter work properly. If anything use the axial on the tent, and use the vortex 6 on the light, strait through the tent and out. Then set the axial to turn off when u co2, that way ur light can be cooled while injecting. And use passive intake, idk seems like the best to me, but I never use intake fans, always do passive so maybe I'm bias.

I wouldn't run co2 with the exhaust setup. You'll be changing that tank every 3-4 days and never acheive the ppm you need to be effective. If you want to use co2 you want the room sealed or "closed loop". You could run a controller that only lets co2 out when not exhausting but I assume that is also keeping temps in check?

second idea!..what if i eliminate the carbon filter and just kool the hood, this will also eliminate the intake filter..that gives me a sealed room. will i have issues with odor that way? i could go this route but what about stale air inside the tent..wont closed loop return the hot air from the hood back in? in new to this closed loop method, tho i know what you mean but never tried it so cant chime in on it..

I would do it like this. If you have a controller (like the Sentinal CHHC-4) hooked to the exhaust fan its the shit. Also a bit of money lol so timers/manual power cycling might be most budget friendly.

i was bout to post this..i found a way to hook up the carbon filter seperatly, just have to check craigslist for a used 6in vortex. i also found someone down the st selling the sentinel chhc-1 for 200,could prob talk him down. i searched online and found the chhc-1 works similar to how you want to hook up the chhc-4..also found used aluminum co2 20lb bottles for 60.00. ill save alot of money here, almost over half. im likeing this aready.... : )..tho imust say the passive natke will not work one bit with a 4x4 running a 6in vortex for exhaust all the wat,,it SUXS the walls right in,even if you leave both bottom holes open..you could try and leave the 2 box holes as well but you might risk getting unwanted matter in there,,mites..etc..atleast i do..might tent is right nxt to an open window that kools my room down by alot

theres some deals around here..this place near by sells the 20 lb co2 tanks used for 65.00..they also fill them up for 1.00 a lb..there out right now so ill have to keep checking back..the dude i bought it from had a 12000 watt set up and had to clear everything out..he looked like money so 180.00 to him was nothing..to me it meant the world...lol.

just need to pick up a used 6in vortex for 80.00 bout an 45 min away and that co2 tank and ill be set.

im mos def going to run the idea you posted on here..ill post pics of the complete set up in a week or two...
the hardest part will be dialing everything in...

lucky bastad, never anything like that on CL near me!
