This thread is for all T5 users to share their knowledge, problems, and Cannaporn:leaf:
There seems to be plenty of T5 growers on the site, but no real organized knowledge base.

There is plenty of potential in the lights, let's see your methods,
and of course results!

So welcome to the Official Club T5 Thread!!!

This is from my Multi spectrum grow. The idea here is that you bud and flower under the same light.

So you only have to change the timer from 20/4 to 12/12. All the light they need in both vegging and flowering is here.

I used a flood table and the full grow journal can be found im sig. (total grow stats first entry)

Peace!

I just got my T5 hung up in my cabinet, I decided to not use the rollers, and just hand the metal V hooks directly to the J hooks.

Right now all I have is one skinny vertical plant, so most of the light spread is being wasted..

Eventually I plan on keeping a perpetual going.
I've got 4 clones rooting right now.

rocking a 2' 8 bulb t5 in my dr60 loving it so far. Except it takes up ALL the width and length space in my tent and heat just chills in there...

I like the idea of us having a home where we can commiserate. I'm a fan of T-5 lighting but far from an expert. My last two medical grows have been under a four tube rack of T-5's and I have to admit I'm happy with the results. I was advised by one of our instructors at a local hydro class to try a progressive light schedule starting with 20 hours on and 4 hours off for the first week and then drop the light by one hour a week, each week. This increases their dark resting period by an hour each week and the result was my plants began flowering on their own at approximately 14 to 13 hours of light. They didn't wait for forced flowering at 12/12.

When I noticed pre-flowering occurring I changed from the blue veg lights to the red flowering tubes and I transitioned my plants to a 1/2 strength flowering nutes formula. The following week I changed their nutes again and fed them the full strength formula and the fun really started. I would encourage anyone interested to try it. If your plants are surrounded by a good reflective surface you can get buds all the way down to the planting deck.

You can sit T-5 lamps a couple of inches off the tops of your plants even though the manufacturer recommended a height of 6" to a foot. I don't know that you can do that with any other lighting system without cooking your plants. There's no real heat to deal with.

My only criticisms are that you can only grow directly under the fixture and you won't get buds as dense as the folks using HID lighting. Yours will be softer but their anesthetic effect will be just as good as any one else's. My fixture is approximately 15" wide by 4' long. It covers two 10' by 20" starter trays set end to end nicely and later my two ten gallon bubble tubs end to end but anything beyond that area isn't going to get enough light.

My suggestion is that if you're going to use T-5's and you know you're going to be limited to the immediate area underneath the fixture, don't waste your time and money on two tube and four tube fixtures. Spend the extra cash and purchase a six or even eight or ten tube fixture long enough to cover your intended grow. I wish I had.

Additionally, compared to almost every other lighting system on the market, they're cheap to run. That's my two bits worth. HSA

Things with the T5 are great.
Later on down the road when I get an HID going,
this will become my Mother/Clone/Veg light.
Got my Christmas Tree cooking right now;
F40 Alpha.jpg
She'll be @ Day 59 on christmas.
I think I'll chop her on day 62 due to holiday plans.

Here's the first batch of official Lemon Skunk T5 clones.
These are rooting under an ancient 15w T8 bulb.

I think I'm going to give them about 3 days veg,
since my 'tree' never quite got rootbound.
Depends on overall root health of the tree next time I check it,
stay tuned:leaf:

Looks good, but also like it had a couple weeks left.
When did you chop that brute?
And how many bulbs/total length?

Sweet, saw your last update, looks good.
Did you top the one on the left? How did you get it's side branches to catch up with the top?

Yo, on your big girl on the right,
you should tie down those tall buds so they're all at the same level,
then you can get ALL the buds within a couple inches from your T5s,
and get massive lumens:leaf:

I like the looks of the bagseed girl,
take a smaller lower branch as a clone,
(Yes, 3 weeks into flower, it's the perfect time for this;
it will wind up "monstercropped" and turn into a fucking "monster" dense bush.

+ You'll be able to keep her genetics around if she turns out to be killer smoke.

Clones have been taken of her and the topped slog. And those in the back were all level .... they started putting on the weight recently and keep falling all over the place LOL. I try and tie them back but I get all sticky and say fuck it

Really glad to see a t5 thread. I have 1, four foot 8 bulb fixture, and 1 four bulb four footer. The 4 bulb I use as a veglight in a very small room, and the 8 bulb I will be using for the bud room. I have been thinking of trying a 600watt bulb but the t5 dose work great.
