Yeah, I guess if I wasted my time taking multi-cultural affairs in college I wouldnt have much skill to live on and to make a living. Probably would have to be a community organizer or something...nlxsk1 is absolutely .....wrong. i geuss you dont read the paper or watch the news...ever. Wall street runs this country not the government ,nor anyone elected has any power without the the backing of wall street. i take it u never went to college and studied multicultural affairs. and if u truly believe if u work hard u can make it then they got u good. oh yeah its not obAma have u noticed his staff is all from the financial sector. and bush sighned in to law the majority of the changes that r going on in the economy, but like most sheep u blame the person who is in office now like if u change that everything will change. if u believe that ur a sucker.
Everyone has access to an education. It does not necessarily require capital to make a fortune in this country. You need a good idea and a work ethic but you can make it happen. Free education and the right to work hard are available to all people.Simply not true. Not everyone has access to capital or to the education to make it work. There are shining examples of people who raise themselves up, many in fact. These are exceptional people. Opportunities of which you speak are not available to most. There will always be haves and have-nots, the elite and the lessor among us.

America is the most mobile country on the planet in terms of your ability to change class. If you make use of your free education and work hard you can make a decent living in this country. If that is not enough you can start and run a business and make as much as you want (well, Obama wants to change that) but it remains true.
The only person keeping you down in America is you...
I think most people just complain because it isnt easy.
I dont need to keep telling myself that, I am living it.Just keep telling yourself that, while you polish your rose coloured glasses and drink your Fox labeled kool aid and you will die a very happy man.
Its not polite to put words into peoples mouths..
Show me how the rich are preventing you from becoming a doctor or lawyer and making a good living. Show me how the rich are preventing you from starting a small business.
Excessive regulations, restrictions, taxes and permitsI dont need to keep telling myself that, I am living it.
Let me ask you something Coals... How hard is it to get into that 1% do you think? People making $343,000 are in that 1%.
How much money do you need to be happy?
Almost anyone in America has the opportunity to make enough money to be happy if they work hard enough at it.
Show me how the rich are preventing you from becoming a doctor or lawyer and making a good living. Show me how the rich are preventing you from starting a small business.
I keep hearing this chant that moving up in America is not possible but yet I see people moving up every day. I just dont see the people waiting around for the government to make them rich getting anywhere but more dependent upon that same government.
You are right, our government has screwed up capitalism. We have subsidies, 22K pages of tax code, tariffs and embargoes, etc... There is so much legislation on business there is no possibility that it can act in a capitalistic manner. We agree on that. Its not polite to put words into peoples mouths.
Look, if you can't see that the game is rigged, I can't force you to. Its all right there in front of you. They tell you we practice Capitalism. We do not. They say we live in a Democracy. We do not. Our money system is broken at the base. Our government has been purchased and re-sold time and time again. We are dragged around the world fighting wars to spread "democracy and freedom" when really we just spread usury and enslavement. We live in a Plutocratic monopoly. A Bannana Republic.
Yes, the government has made it HARDER to make a living. It is not easy.Excessive regulations, restrictions, taxes and permits
If I want to open a burger stand and serve beer and wine I need all sorts of permits and licences and need to be in the right commercial zone and get inspected
And on top of all that my competition might recieve subsidies and breaks that I might not qualify for
If I want to buy or rent a space- or even set up a small mobile cart on public space not obstructing peoples right to travel I should be able to do so
Why cant I sell pizza out of my kitchen and have people come over to eat and turn my place into an exclusive restaurant?
if I had those concerns about a business I probably wouldn't be a customer of theirs.I am not sure if I want to buy pizza out of your kitchen if I am not sure it has a certain level of sanitation and that the food is cooked properly.
I am not big on regulations but some may be needed.if I had those concerns about a business I probably wouldn't be a customer of theirs.
Not everyone does have access to an education, despite what we may wish to believe. Cuts, cuts, cuts. Fewer and fewer research programs. Less money for universities and educational grants, financial aid. This, and the drying up of captial (unless you don't really need it) is what I am referring to.Everyone has access to an education. It does not necessarily require capital to make a fortune in this country. You need a good idea and a work ethic but you can make it happen. Free education and the right to work hard are available to all people.
Everyone has access to a free education up to and including High School. Not every country is so liberal in their educational enrollment policies. Not everyone does have access to an education, despite what we may wish to believe. Cuts, cuts, cuts. Fewer and fewer research programs. Less money for universities and educational grants, financial aid. This, and the drying up of captial (unless you don't really need it) is what I am referring to.
Yes, the government and teachers unions have made it that way.Cripes. ok you can't or won't see my point. In many places, what you are referring to is not an education, at least not one of value.
For America to grow particularly in Education we need to privatize it. They should allow charter schools to form and perform alongside public schools with the voucher system.Nope, my point is that for America to grow and prosper we need to invest in education, not cut it. And in infrastructure.
