Hey guys, this is my first grow. Everything was going fine and dandy until a couple days ago. The upper leaves of the plant have brown spots on them and some are getting pretty crispy. What does this look like to you guys? Here is what I can tell you:
1.Vanilla Kush
2. FFoF Soil
3. Full line of foxfarm nutrients fed once weekly, distilled water in between.
4. 600w air cooled hps
5. Temps in the room have been in the lower 60's (it's in my basement and it is cold!)

I have the same thing going on with a Northern Lights...about 7 weeks into flower. The leaves curl inward and some are crispy. I would love to hear any thoughts as well.

What changed a couple days ago? I have had this happen before, but really, you are 7 weeks into it.. you got another week and a half i dont know if i would stress too bad. Discoloration at the end of flower is normal. Also, since this is your first grow, maybe this is just what the strain does when it is close to harvest. Do you know anyone with the strain that you can ask?

As far as what it is, looking at the pics comparing to https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/488004-guide-nutrient-deficiency-toxicity.html could be potassium or magnesium deficiency, but i am sure there are people here that can give you a much better answer. I am a rookie myself.

Want to hear something Strange?
I Think it Might be the FFoF
I never had it before using FFOF
But the last time I Grew I had the same spots
I switched to Dr earth this time and No Spots

ETA
I bug bombed the shit out of the Room
The spots Never went away

U can use epsom salt or cal\mag+ for the reason
Really plants pray for Mag
Best wishes

Yeah I have some Epsom salt I might try some with a jug of water tomorrow....didn't think that would cause spotting though. I thought it could honestly be the room temp being way too low since it has been getting much colder here lately.

The ph has slowly got too high or low and now the plant is def in trace elements and it also looks like K def. Get the ph to 6.5, and flush with ph'd water to get rid of salt build up at the same time.Should improve in a week. Can become a major prob.

Checked out the chart..good info there. Im not too worried about it. just kind of curious if it was the Norther Lights genetics or the environment. I have 2 phenos of the NL. One much more Sativa dominate which is yellowing (which I expect), but the other is short and dark green with these spots.

Thanks for the info

Magnesium deficiency, as stated if you just have a few weeks left don't worry about it, but if it's a 10 weeker dose it with 1 tablespoon epsom salts per gallon of water. In the future begin with the salts in week 3 of veg. Happy growing!

I treated it with cal mag 10ml per gal
And it did not go away. I dont use a probe to test my soil Ph I use a Soil test kit which is pretty thourough
FFoF Ph is around 6.5
Dr. Earths is around 6.0
I dont think it was a Ph Level I think I got a bad bag of FFoF

It's going to take a few days to notice an improvement. Most nute adjustments take time to show up, usually a week.

I have a clone Im worried about...It was fine in my homemade bubble cloner, but I put it in Manna Mix soil and it got burnt.

This is a Great White Shark. Looks to me to me needing something more. Fed yesterday with just water and Sea Tonic by progress earth. New product to me hopefully it will help.

Phosphorous deficiency. This is either because you have not been giving it enough P, or you have nutrient lockout in the soil preventing P uptake. See below:

http://www.greenmanspage.com/guides/plant_abuse.html

"
Phosphorus

Phosphorus is a component of certain enzymes and proteins, adenosine triphosphate (ATP), ribonucleic acids (RNA), deoxyribonucleic acids (DNA) and phytin. ATP is involved in various energy transfer reactions, and RNA and DNA are components of genetic information.
Phosphorus (P) deficiency
Figure 11 is severe phosphorus (P) deficiency during flowering. Fan leaves are dark green or red/purple, and may turn yellow. Leaves may curl under, go brown and die. Small-formed buds are another main symptom.
Phosphorus deficiencies exhibit slow growing, weak and stunted plants with dark green or purple pigmentation in older leaves and stems.
Some deficiency during flowering is normal, but too much shouldn't be tolerated. Red petioles and stems are a normal, genetic characteristic for many varieties, plus it can also be a co-symptom of N, K, and Mg-deficiencies, so red stems are not a foolproof sign of P-deficiency. Too much P can lead to iron deficiency.
Purpling: accumulation of anthocyanin pigments; causes an overall dark green color with a purple, red, or blue tint, and is the common sign of phosphate deficiency. Some plant species and varieties respond to phosphate deficiency by yellowing instead of purpling. Purpling is natural to some healthy ornamentals.
