T5 or 250watt or 400watt setup?

I have a 3ftx3ft veg tent. I transfered the lights and everything from my veg to a new flower tent I got. Now I need new lights for my veg.
I am at a loss as which to get, T5 fluorescents or a mh 250 or 400 watt setup.
I won't be able to air cool and exhaust my veg tent outside so I am worried about the lights causing too much heat. I know T5s will be fine with the heat, but Id like to go bigger if possible. Will a 250 or 400 watt get too hot in the tent not being air cooled? the room its in stays at around 75 degrees.
any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.

An 8 bulb 24" T5 would work well in a 3x3 with no ventilation. A 400 wouldn't be to bad if your ambient temps are always on the cool side but not so much if its warm. I definitely wouldn't get a 250w HID - the T5 would work better at lower wattage.

What is in your flower room? T5's are good but if you go from that to 1000 HPS problems.

I use to go from CFLs to a 1kW all the time. What type of problems?

Which is funny because every grow i have ever been in uses t5s for veg and 1000 watt hps for flower, including mine.........
The plant doesn't know what light you are using........
I agree that it should be a choice of 400w or 8 bulb t5, if you don't mind fighting the temps the 400 would be the way to go, but for ease the t5 is the way to go all the way.

I was def thinking about doing a 2ft 8 bulb and probably adding on a 2ft 2 lamp or 4 lamp later on when I get some more money.
I have a 600watt in a 5x5 flower tent. im going to eventually upgrade to 1 100w or 2 600ws though.
during the summer I could def get away with the 400w but during winter it gets pretty warm upstairs where the tents are. i think im gonna play it safe and do the T5s.

Nothing if your set up for it. But heat is a factor. Lights to close is another. And many others. I too go from t5 to 2600w but after a few fails I got it worked out. That's the only reason I asked. It's a basic question I need some details to give a good answer.

You should be good ether way. 600 you will need to vent better. T5s 2 house fans should work.
