Wow this thread is a trip. All goofy shit aside man those t shirts ain't gonna do anything. The best thing to do imho would be get a sheet of plywood make yourself a box throw some mylar in that bitch and presto you got a well reflected box. It's also a good idea to keep a fan on em as previously stated. Also I would up those lights pike threefold at least. I grow with cfls and honestly you need a lot of them to make it even worth it. Good luck I hope I didn't come off as a Dick just trying to help.

thanks. Thats good advice. I was thinking about getting 2 more lights like the ones I got and put them on both sides of the plant. Now this may be a really dumb question but Im kinda confused on how the bud actuly forms or comes from on the plant. Where does the actul bud come from? know what i mean? I think i need like a picture that explains in. lol

My little grow box is actually a small footlocker that I stood on it's end, put it on casters, set up an air intake and exhaust system with old computer fans, and lined the inside with aluminum foil. (shiny side in, dull side out).. It's the new and improved Mcgyver grow box, but it's producing results like this lowryder #2 autoflower.. So I would suggest tinfoil and a cheap gluestick if it's applicable to you.View attachment 1931069

to answer your question, yest the white t shirts are reflecting SOME of the light but not that much, the color white is white because it reflects all colors of the light spectrum.
do yourself a favor and go to home depot and grab a piece of 3/4 inch OSB plywood for 8 bucks, figure out the dimensions you need and they will cut all the pieces for you. then get some white paint and paint the pieces FLAT WHITE, dont use gloss white as it works but not as good and can create hot spots. build yourself a small cab that will fit in the closet and just work out of that so you can cut/paint or do whatever you want to it.

also you need more lights, whatt do you currently have for lights in there. need to know how many bulbs, how many watts each bulb are (not the incandesent equivilent but the actual wattage) and the type of light (soft white, bright white, daylight)

All i know is when I bought the bulbs at wal mart it sai 75 wats on the package ( i dont know what the actul wattage is but thats the package said. lol Im soo not expericnes with lights and all that.


Ill look online and post the pics of the 2 exact bulbs I have in there.

The other one I cant find but it said it was 75wats and its a round cfl bulb

Like I said, Im kinda confused on the lighting. Im not sure what I should buy for just a small closet grow like this. i wouldnt thing a strip light would be good right?

The top of my plant is growing good, but its the lower leaves that i need to grow. and i know that there not getting enough light. im guessing right....

The buds will grow out do the flower nodes in the joint between cola and stem. It tales a while so be patient. Once it starts you will see it and it will all make sense I promide.

I know a lot of people use mylar or some other reflective material , but how much of a difference can this make -yield wise 20% ? anyone care to guestimate ?

WOW..are you serious man..!? only a fresh Pro Club will give you the proper reflection & insulation you require to grow nice vigorous plants.. not some fruit of the loom w/ a loose collar

i agree an foil is not gonna hurt anything either.

your shirt is absorbing light instead of reflecting it. foil will be a lot better but i also heard years ago that foil absorbs light too.

get you some cardboard an spray it white, or get some mylar or they also make "panda paper" (a big roll of thick plastic thats white on one side an black on the other.)

That greenish box behind the plant is my grow box. Picked it up at Goodwill while dropping off some stuff one day. It was $5 and looks like someone hand built it out of 1/2 inch plywood (Not pressboard). It's the perfect size for growing just a couple of plants. I don't plan on selling any, just seeing if I'm capable of growing something decent for personal use. So far, so good... :)

Everybodys been there, cept the last time I used tinfoil, I was 14 and trying to grow a stupid bagseed in my bedroom closet, with a junk kitchen floro strip light...... My how the knowledge has increased since then.....

My 1st indoor plant ever when I was a teen was, a dwc 5gal homemade bucket, I used an old chameleon cage as my grow box, insulated w/ card board and covered inside w/ foil. :D I used Home-Depot Grow Lights & Shultz nutes..
after 2 months of growing my beloved bagseed it pop out ball sacs. <3

I was devastated and gave up on growing until a year later when I had the funds to go all out.

I moved mine to my buddys house, a few days later the cops showed up at his house, with no warrant, telling him they know hes got plants in the closet, he told them to get a warrant, but he ripped everything out right after.

What sucked bout that is after 4 yrs of buying this awesome Northern Lights strain, he finally found a lone seed, it was growing great, till that happened.....

FOIL IS FINE, IT IS BETTER THAN MYLAR IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO USE AS A SOLID BACKING

shit wrap your t shirts in aluminum foil :) and you should be good to go.

as far as your lights go, toss the ones you have inside some light fixtures in the house and head back to wal mart and pick up some of these

for your 1 plant i would sugget 4 of these and 4 of these

thats 8 lights total 208 ACTUAL watts, those 10 watt bulbs you have really arent that great. if you can get these 8 bulbs on your plant you will see a huge difference within a week
