Flushing Nutrients

I've been using the Floranova organics in soil, and near end of life on my MI-5. I'm at double strength and no burn or adverse effects yet. Since this is an organic fertilizer, should I still flush it during last week?

yes you should still do a flush like 3 days before harvest then dont water at all untill you crop em down. it helps the buds start to dry out a lil if you dont water the last couple of days. also no nutes at all the last week or two before harvest. i do two weeks w/o nutes the rev from skunk mag says 21 days and he is the king of organics so..i dunno its a personal preferance kinda deal.

no need to ever do a flush at the end of the grow.

although doing so will save you some money on nutrients, the fallacy that you smoke nutrients is spread by people that don't know any better.

floranova isn,t completly organic. i use it also. place plants in bathtub or sink, give at least equal amount of water to soil, preferably 3x the amount. i read a post yesterday, where peeps were just giving straight water, guess they dont understand how to properly flush. a few went on to say they didn,t notice a difference, i guess not if u didn,t flush out of soil...peace

this is information on how to flush when you've over fertilised. when flushing at the end of the grow it should take a couple weeks, no need for a bathtub.

#1- flushing with a shallow or "cut" nutrient solution will "leach" out more than just straight H2o

#2- personally I flush our organics for at least 15 days, the hydro for 21

#3- giving plants no fluids the last several days will increase the plants ability to secrete

#4- a 24 hr dark period is also recommended by many growers I know, let your lights come on for 1 hr, then shut it down for 24 hrs, then chop chop.

#5- a full organic grow does NOT need to be flushed, its just grower preference

its called flushing for a reason my friend. to get the nutesout of soil.the plant fades, because its lackin thereof and knows its time is close. try a side by side flushing 1 plant my way and see if you notice a difference.ok. there its that easy, no more, im right your wrong buddy. give it a whirl, then you can publicly call me a stupid asshole. fair enough?...peace

flushing=myth! ask any prize winning tomato grower if they flush before harvest. Why would you want to remove nutrients when the plant is swelling and growing and consuming the most? It will finish when it is ready. Patience.

brimck- my last grow I flushed one plant kept feeding the other and the plant which was fed the nut the last two weeks looked, smoked and tasted better. Both labels on the food I use say continue to feed until harvest.

Just my opinion from my own observation

Damn! Everybody getting pissed. Thanks for the input people. I think I'm gonna try to just keep it at double strength, and reduce it to normal strength when "flush" time comes instead of just straight spring water. So far no burns or visible deficiencies, and the few shade/fan leaves and bottom "feeler" shoots that had just very tiny hairs, tasted great and didn't burn throat when tossed into bowl just for kicks. I'm just surprised it's soaking up the nutrient as easy and not hurting it. Of course, it has started bulking massively in the past week.

plants pick and choose what nutrients they want like you would the food from a buffet. You can't force food into the plant, aside from foliar feeding, but even then the plant can just close the stomata. Plants also have a salinity tolerance, so long as you are below that and K transport is fine you can feed what amount you like.

for example i've started seedlings at 3.2EC (2000ppm). Indeed, critical feeding wil result in bumper harvests, but beware... push them too far and the plants stop getting the right K and bud development will slow a while before you notice deficiencies on the leaves.

Yeah, It's just one more feed come Wed. with what's the last 1/2 gallon of nutrient water. Then 1/2 gallon straight spring water. I just had to re-format my computer, so my camera should work and I'll put up some pics.
