When to transfer

I don't know if this has been already asked, I did a quick skim and couldn't find anything. I'm growing an unknown sativa strain and was wondering when I should plant them outdoors. I live in Louisiana and there's is plenty of sunlight, but I tested a two week old plant in the shed and it overwelmed it and died. Right now my plants are still indoors and they are almost three weeks old and healthy, but they are tall for their age and their stems are thin and feeble. There isn't a lot of strong winds, but a little breeze tilts them over outside. So when should I?

I'd say a month or even a month and a half.

stake the plants so they dont get beat up by the wind.

you should have had a fan on them since the beginning.

also you dont want them to go into direct sunlight at first, this might killl your plants

start exposing them a little bit at a time-hardening off, then after a couple weeks or so do what you will with them in there permanent space.

What do you mean by not exposing them to direct sunlight? Like putting a screen over them? And plus I couldn't get a fan so I put my ceiling fan on high and it kind of works. Oh and I do have stakes for them because they are so tall. I'm scared because I predict my plants might grow like a bamboo shoot. I don't want them to be any taller than I am.

you could do it two ways

one- put them in a not so sunny area for a while, then after a couple weeks of this, transfer them into their permanent bright sunny homes.

two- give them 3-7 hours of direct sunlight a day b4 their permanent homes. start at the lower end and then work your way up. just keep and eye on the to see how they are handling it.

Glad to hear of another Louisiana grower! Listen man, I started my seeds 3/12, they sprouted 3/14... kept them inside for those freezes, then this past week transplanted. Make sure you're not around any pine trees (soil is crap around them) and make sure to mix the soil you'll use and the native soil together well, this diffuses the "barrier" around the soils and won't shock the plants. Also, we're working on a real, active Louisiana NORML chapter. Hopefully decriminalization is in our near future!
