Totally dig it, sqydro! I very much enjoy the experimenting of it all - have to say that I'm growing with both stones and a GH Hydrofarm halo drip that is reverse pressure activated from air pump, no water pump necessary, and these provide waterfall irrigation, but I'm battling overwatering and had to throw them on a timer, so I left the traditional stones on for 24/7 air...I'll be watching you to learn something new!

yeah i had to have mine on a timer early on when they were in there seedling stage, 15 mins on 4 hours of was what they responded best to!

Excellent idea. I have been toying with the idea of flooming instead of air stones for DO. Props to you

I run an air pump on a main res that has water falling from the top (running thru a chiller) do you suppose I'm wasting say 80 watts of electric by running the pump?

yeah your right mate, they add heat to res, bring in pythium as its a airborne disease!!!! and in general a system is more efficient if i need 5 leess stones airline manifolds and a huge airpump lol,

as for the tree machine id go 3000-4000lph per tree machine, are you going polytank and 4 gal basin tree machine?

as for flushing i have a 2m lenghth of hose onto my recirc pump into a 3m lenght of 32mm pipe direct into my toilet lol i fill up the bath and leave it to stand over night to refil in the oppposite way, for the last few L of stuff in each tub i cant get out i use a small 750lph hialea sub pump like a aquavac lol just tilt the tubs and pump into a watering can, hope this helps you out buddy!!
That's the exact setup I'd like to do. Heath Robinson style. Or even half his style.

yeah well its not exactly flooming, same concept though just a different way of aggitation of the waters surface!

can u explain the set up a bit more mate il be able to tell you better if its a waste or not, cheers!

an Un-VO grow is a grow that consists of at least one detail VO objects too or opposes.

oh i see the guy that says RDWC is shocking lol well we shal see if this is the exception to the rule, i think i have alot more control in this than in stand alone bucket set ups to be honest!

bit of LST goin on then flip on wed or fri i think guys il update soon thanks for looking in!

sqydro, I've got a 55 gallon cap res that I pump water from the bottom of this res thru the chiller and then drop it back into the barrel from a bulkhead in the top, I'm using an cap ebb monster controller with two igloo coolers and one 5 gallon bucket (with 5 plants in it, the Un-VO way) . its not set up as ebb and flow but a sort of rdwc, I drain every 2 hours back to the barrel where the remainder of the water is after filling the coolers and bucket in the room. I do have massive air pumping into the coolers and bucket. also quite a lot at the main res, plus the water falling from the chiller (about 2 feet drop most of the time since the system only drains back to the main res once every two hours. Fuck that wasn't easy to type and I'm still not sure its clear to anyone but me :/

In running a water pump 24/7 that certainly does heat things up, have you noticed? an external pump may work or do you have a chiller?

oh sorry, we've already talked about that here, I have a hard time keeping track of who's who.
