Just a quick update concerning Jeremy ... They had to amputate both of his legs yesterday, as they were severely crushed in the accident. His spirits are very up and positive, as he is a fighter. The next several days are critical for infections and such, but other than the obvious, he is doing quite well. I thank all of you for keeping my friend in your thoughts and prayers, and will post more as it becomes available.

Sad to hear. I hope he lives and otherwise happy and healthy life, no doubt he will get through this - he sounds like a bull dog.

Two charged after raid at Waterboro pot house
WATERBORO Authorities seized more than 16 pounds of processed marijuana from a home they said was being used for an indoor growing operation.

The York County Sheriff's Office investigated a suspicious activity complaint at 181 Beaver Dam Road Thursday after neighbors reported a strange odor coming from the home. Investigators learned that the homeowner did not live there but would visit for several hours each week, according to the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office executed a search warrant at the home and took two men into custody. Graham Chitouras, 25, of Lexington, Mass., and David Rosen, 26, of Ashway, R.I., were each charged with unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.
Each is being held on $10,000 cash bail. Their arraignments in York County Superior Court are scheduled for Feb. 12.
Sheriff Maurice Ouellette expressed thanks to residents who reported the suspicious activity.
"Their efforts resulted in the arrest of two individuals who had no ties to the state of Maine other than the use of this property in our community, which was strictly being used as an indoor marijuana-growing operation," he said in a prepared statement.
Also seized from the home were nearly 25 plants with an estimated street value of more than $50,000 and more than $60,000 worth of growing equipment.

The new dispensary in Portland is getting ready to open in the new year. There is a story in yesterday's Sunday Telegram about it. It appears they may be planning to run afoul of the law by offering a place to hang out with a "vapor lounge". Here's a link to the story:

Concerning Portland's new dig .... What get's me the most is the fact that they don't want us to hang around and yadda- yadda.
So why is it okay for me, who may have terminal this or that, sit at a bar, nurse a drink or beer, and feel sorry for myself next to someone who just found out the same? This is getting to be so much of a Paranoid State of Wellness ... I just wish they would leave us the f--k alone.

besides the drinking anology, the cancer centers have places for sick people to socialize, socializing with other sick people helps people know they aren't alone. What kills me about the dhhs statement is, how it flys against everything we know about taking care of patients; a since of community, a since of feeling safe and welcomed, a place to be around other going through the same harache and (for us) social stigma attached to our illnesses.. its shameful.

It seems that "The Boneheads" always get to "Tweak" their say, and then "Tweak" it some more to fit into their lifestyle(s). That to me is just sooo wrong.... I guess that is why I am more boisterous and vocal about this whole MMJ thing.
In matter of fact, at 4pm this afternoon, I will be a part of a three way discussion concerning MMJ. Last week, I received a call from a Social Worker/ Therapist who has a patient who wants to learn more about MMJ. The Therapist knew that I was an MMJ Patient, and invited me to sit with her client (With Her Permission), as well as herself. I will be given the allotted time (50 Minutes) to see this potential MMJ Patient, and give her MY Spin on why MMJ works for me, rather than the big Pharma drugs etc. I thought it was really nice of this Therapist, as well as future patient (possibly) for the chance to talk. Call it a "Gift" that I have, but I am really, really looking forward to this. (It is not my 1st time doing so), but this is a 1st in a "Professional Atmosphere". Wish me luck !!

Thank You all Yesterdays meeting went great, and yes I hit a Grand Slam with both the Therapist as well as the potential MMJ patient. I had with me, some detail info that I picked up here and there on the internet, including the form that her doctor should sign to become a patient. When I brought that to her attention, tears started to roll down her eyes.
One of the biggest parts of the entire conversation, was the lack of knowledge. Both of them thought Dr. Dustin Sulak was the only way to get approved, and like I told them, no. I am not going to "Brand" Dr. Sulak either way. Once we got over that hurdle, I felt that both of them with more at ease with the presentation that I offered, as well as the CareGiver end of the spectrum. As I told them, to me a CareGiver is someone who cares, rather than a dispensary where I would feel just like a number in a bingo game.
At the end, tears from all 3 of us were poured out as a way of knowing that she is not alone. We need each other. And I look very forward to her calling me up and looking for more assistance as warranted.

The nature of my job puts me in regular email contact with state representatives, senators, and other government officials. I saw a tagline on a State Representatives email signature that caught my attention...

[h=6]Looking very forward to seeing quite a few of my friends on Tuesday, January 3rd, at "The Pub", Concourse in Waterville. Please remember to spread the word to as many of your friends that may have any questions concerning how to obtain MMJ, or any other questions they may have with the use of Medical Marijuana. I am so happy things went so well Bob, I had tears reading about it. I sure wish I could make it to "The Pub" , I don't have transportation of my own and my landlord's truck I use to do my shopping is on the "hell no" list. So, hope you all have a great time! I'll be there with you in spirit.
