Indoor Growing Systems

great set ups man. i'm stuck in rut at the moment. Im strapped for cash now seeing as i just bought a new HPS fixture. And i need to get fast established growth. So my best method is some sort of hydro system. How ever i cant for the life of me figure out the best way to pot the plant / suspend them in water with the equipment i have to hand.

Would the following work?

Basicaly have a container for the run off and when roots get long enough for the solution, over this have a grill which the rock wool block with plant, is place upon. That way the roots will be in water as well as having access to oxygen (i'd also have airrocks in the solution)

So wheres the plans to build one of these????
Your kidding right ?

The plans are all right in the diagrams, all thats required is a basic understanding of what each system is & very little cash.

Great f in job rollitup, those are the best drawings ive yet to see anywhere, thank you.

this is all a bit expencise aint it
No,plan number 1 is the cheapest anybody anywhere can set up a real grow room that has productive yeilds, the room in diagram number one can be made for $300 & yeild between a quarter pound to a half pound every 60 days, pretty cheap i'd say.

nice thread this is what i am looking for ...

in drawing two ... how high of a water level are you looking for there ? just a little , like 1/4" then it runs into a res and pumps back out ?
i am just trying to plan what kinda pump i would need .

in drawing one i see 400w but what kinda light would i use ?

sorry to jack your thread but i really was looking for my first question . i was hopeing to copy your build inbetween 1&2 and add some more down the road . i can handle building the box and adding fans and such . i think i'll try to find a nice tub and build my box around that . thanks so much for those drawing thats just what the dr. ordered ....

A lot of folks have been asking about ventilation. All of these illustrations show the ventilation necessary for the lighting and systems in use. I would say the co2 would be the last thing to add, after all of the other systems are in place. VV:blsmoke:

It is a Sticky isn't it? Used to be a lot of them , then we had everyone puttting up stickys. No , no one looks at em, still need to be integrated in to FAQ. VV

My bad , you are right it should be a sticky. Maybe that rollitup dude, even though he probably has less than a thousand posts, can do something about it. I used a similar pattern for my grow area that I found in General Hydroponics. VV

I like system #3 Im going to use something very close to that, only smaller. Im only going to grow 4 plants. My question is , how big should the reservior be for 4 plants?

I built my own utilizing a metal storage cabinet so it is totally stealth. Total cost including materials, 600w light, fan can fan and filter, drip system and all chemicals needed to grow from veg to finishing flower .... $1500 and worth it. I am able to lock it and no light escapes at all. The internal temp has been running around 75 degrees and to drop the water temp I am using frozen 1 gallon water jugs, I also just added an aquarium air pump that I found sitting around which will help oxinate the water.
