QUick Beginners ?

Im going to have my mother plants in a seperate veg cab than the ones I will be flowering. Now would it be better to start clones off under the HPS and let them grow larger till 12/12 in flower room. Or would I be better off to take clones from the mother plant and keep those in my grow box and put the bigger plants in flower room. Essentially my quest is would my plants be better off spending most of their lives under the hps? :joint:

Do you not have a Metal Halide bulb? The spectrum from the MH would be better for your Mother's and the vegging clones. The newly cut clones only really need cfl, or some other fluoro's. The HPS gives the best spectrum for flowering. I know some people do the entire grow off one of the 3. But I figure why not give them what they need most at the right time.

I have a ballast that can handle both mh and hps 600W So I could always put them under the mh for a bit. Do you think this would benefit me more than the cfls for veg. I always assumed cfls were ok just took longer I was thinking the turn over rate of crop would be higher if I just grew them larger in the cab and put them directly into flower rather than putting mid size plants under mh for a while than switching to hps for flower. What ever is beneficial I will do.

CFL ae good for seedlings. Once they get a couple of true leaf sets and enter veg, go to the MH. When you want to induce flowering switch to the HPS...best of all 3 worlds.

You dont need to keep mothers really which allows for more plants in the veg area that are getting ready to flower. Here is how. Go ahead and veg this first generation under the most lighting you can, the 600w. when you go to flower them go ahead and take about 4 clones from the lowest branches that wont do anything really anyway and put them in the veg area to root and veg. take the 600w light with the plants into the flowering area. the 400w hps would be better than the flouro lighting for vegging. you can root under it if you want but i just use the cfl sidelighting and keep the hid off till theyve rooted. by the time your first generation is done flowering the vegging plants will be large enough to take around 4 clones like you did before and put into flower. just keep on doing that cycle. once youve got cloning down you can cut down on the numbers of clones off each plant unless you want like a million clones and have space for them.

Hey Dark I appreciate you answered question very well sir. And Budz I like your idea of the best of the 3 worlds. ANy suggestions on strains that can handle more stress for first time growers?

for kicks i decided to see how many generations(in theory assuming all 4 clones survive each time, ) it would take to get to a million plants from just one plant.....lol
generation 1=1 plant
generation 2=4 plants
generation 3=16 plants
generation 4=64 plants
generation 5=256 plants
generation 6=1024 plants
generation 7= 4096 plants
generation 8=16,384 plants
generation 9=65,536 plants
generation 10=262,144 plants
generation 11=1,048,576 plants.

im actually a little bit surprised. i knew it would be pretty quick but i was expecting something like 15 or 16 generations.

hey urbangroop I would suggest going with some nirvana beans, they're super cheap and still have quality genetics not the best but u will still grow some good dank. I would suggest AI for the abuse. funny cuz that's what I'm currently growing. but I have 3 different strains in 1 system with all same nutrients and water. one is ak48 other is aurora indica and 3rd is bagseed. I had problems for the first month I think it was a mix of using well water(8.5 ph naturally) and too high ferts. but all my plants looked all burned and fucked up but the aurora indica was as healthy as can be.

Hey I appreciate all of your guys's Knowledge. Im one who Im going to do something want to do it right and not waste money. Glad I found a website where people know what they are talking about.
