cannabineer,

Cinnamon is quite effective though, yes, it would destroy the worms.

Nematodes were the goal of the incessant AACT applications, clearly this was not effective. The worms would love something bigger to munch on so any advice you can suggest would be greatly appreciated. Sourcing? The composter is up and running and will produce castings in two - three weeks. By then, it'll be close enough to harvest that it won't really matter. Nematodes are the final production of bacterial based teas, following protazoa (that's all i know!). What would be a decent source for the proper kind of nematodes?

For a compounded fert guy, you sure know your organics!

After work, I'll flip through TWM and WEMG to see if they have any recommendations.

General update,

Watered this morning at 12:45am and lost power from 1 - 4am. Right in the middle of the day cycle for the plant. Kind of sucks. The timer was reset to continue the 7pm - 7am lights on schedule. Hopefully they'll be alright, I guess it's a good thing they took it on a full stomach!

Starting to get frosty around here.

Happy growing.

Hi oTm
I don't have a source for the nematodes myself, and I don't entirely trust my local hydro store. i did find this link which lists the effective 'todes by species. Embedded is a suppliers link (just above the bibliography); many of the suppliers are close if you live out West ... I am sure a few phone calls will have some Heterorhabditis sp. on their way! cn

hello avrum, thank you for the kind words.

If you find yourself twiddling your thumbs over the holidays, the link that psytranceorgy provided could be the relief. It is a wonderful read from a group of very inspired individuals.

Grow Happy, avrum.

cannabineer,

Thank you. Google scholar just pulled up a nice reading list. Looks like it's time to brush up on some biology.

Dude, you are one talented gardener! I like your plant. You are doing good work with it! And it looks like you know how to make a grow tent! All the setup looks decent! keep it up!

maariic, thank you for being so supportive.

Ms. Headband is growing herself at this point and this is probably a good thing. She'd be free of phosphorus lockout if I didn't love playing in the dirt so much!

As far as the tent, this one's from ebay. 3/5 stars and a little expensive. Fits the space perfectly.

Pics tomorrow.

Very nice looking plants! I love your setup.

@OP: "Lights: 2' x 4 Bulb MAXLUME T5 Fixture"

I'm a beginner, about to invest in a T5 veg-setup, how many watts are your tubes and what Kelvin?
Is your T5 setup enough for growing 2 mothers, in addition to vegging clones before flowering?
I plan on flowering using vertical 250W HPS.

OldGrowAddict,

Good to have you along, welcome. It's a 2 Ft 4 Bulb High Output fixture @ 24w/bulb = 96w/fixture (anyone with more electrical knowledge would point out that consumption is not generally as rated). It's a great fixture for this space and the aquarium lights are fantastic. Check this out; https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/358190-led-without-leds-my-first.html

T5s are great, try them! This setup would work very well for up to 4 mothers.

Cheers!

...

Update soon.

Smoking on some headband now buddy! Hope yours turns out as good as this. Nice super dense nugs, smells incredible... its the kind of smell that tickles your nose like soda pop.

Flowering Week 5

Buds are coming on strong now as new calyxes and pistils are still popping out. Trichome development has been underway and has become readily apparent within the last 48hrs. A lemony-earth-grass smell now permeates the tent. The worst of the phosphorus burn is about over as the affected leaves are becoming necrotic. The new growth looks safe, a few burned tips but overall healthy, green growth. The fungus gnats are also decreasing in numbers. Finally, the vermicomposter appears to be working well; it's getting dense and smells earthy-fresh.

Two days ago; the plant was watered with a mild EWC and molasses tea, then the bottom 2/3 was soaked with dechlorinated tap water for approximately 15mins.

Okay okay, onto the pics.

Happy Grower, Happy Plant.

VLRD.Kush, thank you for stopping in.

The soda pop tingle is the best, mmm... a fresh glass of Coca-Cola. Even Dr. Pepper!

This plant's a trooper and if it turns out, will be my first headband. Dense buds aren't expected but would definitely be appreciated - this is primarily a hobby for personal growth which has the secondary benefits of personal smoke.

Very very good! So many buds and they all are getting thicker. I am just wondering, can you take one picture with regular light that I can see true colors?

Do you think those leaves will die? How did you get this burn? Did you add too much P to your water?

maariic,

Excessive application of Jamaican Bat Guano + High phosphorus well water created the burns. The plant will continue to dump excess phosphorus into these leaves until they die off. Hopefully they'll be done in time for the new growth to take over.

avrum,

As far as height, it might be eight inches tall - this is probably a good thing. The light fixture is running into one of the exhausting PC fans and makes a buzzing sound if not adjusted. Would've benefitted from some better planning... and a job.

I'll grab pics in better light and measurements after work.

Thank you guys for chiming in!

Pics in "natural" light & measurements

These pictures were taken under 1x23w 3,000k and 1x23w 6,500k CFLs.

As far as measurements; the plant is housed by an 8" rootpot (expanded to 9"). The highest bud is 9" from the top of the pot. There is 6" of clearance between that bud and the lights. After rigging and fixture depth, there are 3-4 inches of usable space to raise the light.

Ms. Headband needed water tonight. Rather than risking more nutrient burn, I opted for plain H2O. The next watering will be a light EWC/molasses tea.

Long day, time for a little mutombo.

Happy growing.
