Just started 12/12 in new larger grow room in garage and temps. are low!
I have electric heater in room (4x8), but temps stay between 55F and 68F! I'm Sure this is way too low.
What is the lowest temp. that is ok for plants?
Will they make it with these temps. or am I killing them slowly?

I run my purples in flower at about that, it really brings out colors. I would recommend to make a smaller space within your space for veg, because vegging I always shoot for high 70's low 80's for flower I like it a little cooler 70* - 55* low at night.

Cheers, I would say give it a shot and get some purple strains ordered :)

those temps are fine for some plants, but others may show slow growth and low metabolism. get it warmer :)
Correct,i agree.

I have my own building specifically to grow in so im able to tailor all aspects of the enviroment however i want, ive experimented quite a bit with different climates, your temps are way too low for most strains.

Purple strains & some blues were designed in cold enviroments & grow good in cold temps, infact the cold brings out deep colors in them.

Exactly how cold or hot depends on the genetics but a good happy medium temp for winter time is low 70's durring lights on & low 60's durring lights off.

When you get colder than that growth slows to a crawl.

If you can keep it at 60-70 degrees light on, then that is just fine. 55-60 at night is also alright. The only thing is with lower temps you might start noticing purple on your plants and slower growth, like someone said above though purple strains are better for lower temps. If you can help it, raise them temps a bit. If not then at least keep them where they are at and you should make it. Good luck.

i would also keep an eye on humidity, when its getting that cold i would assume you are in a cold damp climate. cold will slow growth but damp conditions can really mess up a flowering plant. good luck.
