250 watt grow cab help needed

OK,So I've decided this is def how I'm gonna grow. I'm gonna build a 2.5' x 2.5' x 6' grow cab. It will have enough space for 2-5 gallon buckets filled with soil and still have 6" in every direction for growth. It will have reflective material all over the inside of the box. The light will be 250 W MH/HPS. I am needing help with ventilation/odor control. What nutes should I use? What height should I introduce flowering so the light doesn't hit the plants and I don't have a prob with venting? I need help to know where to put fans and a carbon filter. All the rest I have covered.
Thanks guys

I would use that cab for a vertical scrog. One fan in the middle of the floor pointing up. Bare bulb hanging above that with 4 in exhaust fan right abouve it

What nutes? I would recomend organic as it is very hard to burn from overuse & I feel has a better taste when done.
what height? plants will double in size so switch to 12/12 before they reach 1/2 way up your cab.

Panda film for the reflection, Both Fox Farm trios for nutes if you are a beginner, height shouldn't matter much if you're scrogging honestly, have a oscillating fan for air circulation inside the cab and look up passive intake. Also figure out your CFM's for your space, that will help loads figuring out how powerful of a fan you need. Hope this helps.

Edit: Also feel free to click the link in my signature for the 250 club.

Ok,So I've just ordered the 3 pack of FF nutes from HTG. My CFM is 45. If I put this directly on top of my grow cab with the exhaust going into attic with carbon filter would it cool and hide smell well? http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-100081599/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053

I'd get a fan off of HTG honestly you want your carbon filter at the top, what kind of hood you got? If it's a cooling hood, Carbon filter>ducting>light>ducting>exhaust.

I have the simple 4 sided reflector nothing fancy. There so damn expensive tho! I'm confident I could build one. I would put the filter and loose carbon in the ducting so as it came through fan it will be killed at ducting.

if you're going DIY read up on it, passive intake could work but given your setup it'd be more complicated than just pushing through. So in your case you'd probably want the CF on the outside of the cab and the exhaust pushing through the filter. There are plenty of DIY carbon filter threads on the site, I'd recommend doing one of those builds versus just stuffing loose activated carbon in the ducting to be honest.

The more you put into your grow the more you will get out of it.

OK,I'm gonna get a 100 CFM bathroom fan, connect the ducting, then follow this, http://www.420magazine.com/forums/do-yourself/115176-diy-high-flow-carbon-filter.html I believe without a doubt this will knock out the smell of 2 plants. For my intake I will use a 40-65 CFM fan. I will also have a small oscillating fan in the room. I will run for one week and see the temps before I plant the seeds. What do you think?

I usually do a full 48 hours with everything on and determine my heat off of that, in all honesty because my ventilation is pretty well set up I have a harder time keeping heat up than down. Damn A/C lol.

That's what I'm aiming for.LOL Do you think that carbon filter would work tho? Could I just sit the filter on floor and run the ducting from cab into it? I don't know if my ceiling would hold something that big haha.

My CF is a bought one, but you're gonna have to go different because of your hood.

So it would be Exhaust>Carbon Filter. That would be in your attic. The previous vent set up I was talking about was for passive with an air cooled hood. You don't have an air cooled hood, so this will most likely be your best bet.

OR I was thinking I could get a hood with glass and vent holes on each side. I run intake and exhaust for the light,Then I run the exhaust fan out of the top that would cool only grow cab and some of the light heat that would come off it,I then run an intake fan right above the 5 gallon buckets with a bucket of ice water next to it (Ghetto AC) & finally run a wall mounted oscillating fan in cab. So many choices,This is gonna def be fun! I'm not aiming high for yield either! All I'm aiming for is a total of 10 grams. Would it matter if the carbon filter was on the ground?

I hate to keep asking questions man but the venting is really confusing me. I'm starting to get it now tho because of you helping me. I def appreciate dude.

I would probably downsize the diy that you linked to because you have a smaller fan. Other than that should work if you duct out and into that. Shorter the duct the better though

I've grown a very similar set-up with success for the last couple of years. I put a three quater piece of glass on my light. Cut a whole in my light for a four inch flex duct, that goes to a small squirrel cage fan that blows through a charcoal filter. I dont know if you can picture this but they make a filter thats like eight inches around and like eighteen inches long. So I made a box that my filters sits in. Figure a long shoebox thats at the top and back of your cab, Its a box in a box. That way its sealed from the rest of the cabinet. The open side of the box faces the back wall, so when my cab is closed up I can reach over and feel behind my cab and feel air being pushed through the filter. Dirty air gets pulled through the light and pushed out the filter. I also have a passive intake just big enough to have negative pressure. When my fan and light is on it justs holds my door shut. I had that in a backyard shed and it worked great, temps a little high but plants dont seem to mind. Only during July and August heat became a problem. They still growed fine but very low potency. So tried to veg with floros during those times. I had three plants maybe three feet tall. Yield around one and three quarter ounce each every seventy days.
