This question has probably been asked a gzillion times, but i've been searching around RIU for a while, and haven't been able to find some clear answers.
When do i know that my plant is cloneable?

Picture examples are gladly accepted.

Any time I would say essentially, as in like 3 nodes. (because you need to cut above and below the node)

Optimally you would like to leave vegetation on the plant so that it can continue photosynthesis and regenerate all those clones you may or may not need.
You should leave at least 3 nice fan leaves so that the plant has reserves and a factory for energy and sugars ect. The more vegetation left on the plant, the quicker it will recover.

If you haven't check out some guides on making clones. I've seen some nice ones around.

yeah but when you clone, if you dont know the mothers sex and have her in veg, just take 1 clone and sex it, if male toss em all or double check just in case it hermied for some reason.

In theory, a plant can be cloned at any time during its life cycle past the seedling stage, though rapid vegetative growth phase is the time when you're going to have the highest likelihood of success.

I think the answer is that technically any cutting that has mature fan leaves on it could potentially root. So you wouldn't even necessarily need three nodes. . .as long as you're willing to kill the mother by taking the clone!

In practice, I'd say you probably want to wait until the plant has at least 5 nodes on it, and is at least a month old.

You don't need to wait until the plant is sexually mature before cloning it, but in practice, you probably will want to know the gender prior to bothering with the clones.

I usually top my plants after 5th or 6th node grows out (top above the 2nd node) then clone the cut top and from that point on take as many cuts as you'd like...

idontlikefoxnews-- Man up and quit sniveling. The truth hurts.

Most of the replies deal with the mother plant. It is better to concentrate on the clone itself.
Clones do better when you take larger clones. Make sure your clone has a stem wide enough
to show a hole in the middle. Clones with a hole = 90+% success, w/out a hole = 50/50. Go
with the hole!
