I know a lot of people don't like Miracle Grow soil but what about their blood and bone meal? Is there any reason this couldn't be used in Subcool's supersoil? I was wondering just because it is easy to find. I didn't know if there was a difference between it and something like Happy Frog or not.
Some folks, it seems to me just don't read the questions. Jstone, blood and bone meal are just slaughterhouse by-products. Places like Smithfield are the predominant sources of the raw materials.Surely you can substitute any number of brands of these products since most come from the same original source. Steamed bone meal has a higher phosphorus availability than non steamed, but steaming can be done in your kitchen if you are concerned about that.
Even though this is veering away from your question, I can say this. Miracle Grow organic potting soil is known all over the web to be a less than ideal product for growing cannabis. Sure you can amend it, correct the ph,etc. and make it work. The biggest threat for indoor growers or outdoor container growers using MG organic potting soil is the high propensity of a root aphid infestation. There are countless threads on MJ sites and general gardening sites relating to this very topic.
