Alright, I was just about to switch to 12/12 the other day, when I started getting all these stupid ass problems and I need some serious help. Please read because I just want to do this right and get things going well.

I had 15 plants all in 5 gallon buckets in a room on 2 1000W lights. I had them filled 4 gallons with RO water plus all the nutrients that I use. Here's a pic of all this bullshit everybody keeps telling me to use:

Alright, so I had a little bit of bad leaves and stuff but not too big to worry about, I was told it would go away when I switch to bud. Anyways, I'm about 1 or 2 days from flipping the switch, and I mixed all my nutrients for the first start of bloom. So, I put 40mL Liquid Karma, 30mL Aquashield, 30mL CNS17 Bloom, 15 mL Calmag.

Right, so my plants started receiving a bunch of problems. Pics provided of the plant shows something like too much calmag or something I have no idea. My PH when I checked was close to 7, so I brought it back to 5.8. I was running the ppm at around 800 and before that it was about 600 with around half strength of those nutes and the CNS17 Grow instead of the Bloom.

Alright, now for the worst part!!! I HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT HAPPENED AND THIS IS PISSING ME OFF. PLEASE READ

Two days ago, I was going to flip to 12/12 but I noticed that all my roots were all slimey and brown filled with that Liquid Karma shit!!! I was so freaked out, I bought this $30 bottle of aquashield stuff or something that cleans it out, so I put that there for 2 hours, then re mixed nutrients the same way, added some of the hydrozyme or whatever in there. The next day, my roots are all brown and there's like slime and shit in it! I'm so pissed so I flushed them AGAIN with sledgehammer and switched to whole different nutrients.

Now I'm doing this humbolt 3 part nutrients and what it tells me to do is put my 4 week old plants just about to start budding at like 1400PPM and my veg plants at like 1000!!

I set the budding ones at 1200 ppm and the veg ones at 800 ppm, but I have not flipped the switch yet. And I used well water that starts at 80ppm because I was told to!



Right now I have 5 veg plants that were at around 500ppm. In my 4 gallons i put 20ml calmag, 20ml aquashield, 20ml liquid karma, and 20ml of CNS17 Grow and now I get this:

Please, someone tell me what this is!!! ^^ I've had the same problem the whole way through with my 15 other plants too!

I just switched out the nutrients and mixed in 15ml Grow, 25ml Micro, and 35ml bloom. I also added in nectar, and silica blast and it's at around 800ppm right now. They are about 2 weeks old..

Someone please help me! IDK What to do and I'm sick of changing 20 buckets 2 times a day aldkjLKf;lkajsldjfasldas!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would suggest skipping all of the weird additives and running just the basic nutes. run these around EC.7 to .8

After you get everything dialed in you can start messing with the additives.

any organic matter you add is just food for slime. the lower the ppm level the more Oxygen your water holds.

Mandala seeds has a great page on how to feed for good results. you will see your friends have steered you wrong with all those jugs. Keep the grow, bloom, ph up/down, and silica. put everything else away for the rest of the grow.

If your roots are slimy you could have some root rot. An h202 bath followed by a couple days of plain water and you should be ready to put you plants on a reduced nutrient schedule using nothing but a good quality nutrient like Vitagrow or DynaGrow.

All that stuff you have been dumping on your plants is doing more harm than good regardless of what the marketing nonsense tells you. All you need to do is make sure that your plants get the 16 elements that they need and they will take care of themselves. None of those additives are neccessary and are nothing more than expensive bottles of water with fancy labels and ridiculous claims.

I bet if I could sneak into grow rooms and replace everyones additives with plain water they wouldn't know the difference and would in fact credit the normal growth to the effects of a bottle of something with a fancy label. What's that word? Oh yeah "PLACEBO".

Alright cool but that doesn't explain why the leafs of my plant look the way they do in the pictures or why my roots are slimey. I just want nice green hydro plants, I have so much room I want to take out like 5-10 plants a week but it's being a pain in the ass so far.

I already put nutes in my stuff, so I should take them out and use RO water, or well water(its at 80ppm) ? And just ph it accordingly for a few days? Keep it on 18-6? I want 12-12 ASAP

I bought the filter system was like 300 something bucks. I just fill a 55 gal trash can for my water. Someone told me I don't even need it and I should use my well water, so I switched to that for right now.

Nice I'm not in a ideal situation but down the road i know I need to use RO but it's 8 degrees outside and I have 55 gallon flo n grow system my neighbors might wonder why I'm 55 gallons of water in weekly. Using city water with 200 ppm right now and 11 ph

I'm a novice so take that into consideration. My guess is that you damamged the leaves by leaving your ph at 7

First of all "RELAX" it's a plant, it's not life threating. The rusty spots could be from nute burn. But when i ran the lucas formula i had rusty spots and had to use cal-mag which you stated you are alreadt using. If it was me i would flush real good then use 1 part each of the nutes use a 50/50 tap/ro and 7ml of H202. I just battled the slimey shit in my rez also. Did you get those cuts from the club? Seems they are really throwing some crap out there lately. Please try to chill though, it's a learning curve we all had to go through. Fuk all the heavy feeding with all the bs additives. Get a few runs down with same strain and then try adding something to see if it actually helps or not. Good luck brother!!!

Check out my grow journal, its a commercial grow op and we use Humboldt exclusively right now. It may help and give you some ideas.

Based on your posts, the plants have been burned by nutrients and ph a bit. No worries. Set your ph to 5.6 in the reservoir after all your nutrients are right and your barrel is topped off. Then, over a few days, your water will be taken in by the plants and your ph will go up a little, just keep it to 5.6 every time it goes over 6.0. Easy stuff! For your nutrient ppm, stick to my suggestions above. It works for pretty much every strain I've grown except Endless Sky which is a dumb example anyway.

Your not going to notice improvements immediately. The damage that is done, is done. Your plants wont suddenly all turn green. You want to watch for NEW growth to be nice and green, and for the plants not to get WORSE.

With respect to all of the additives you are using, just stick to the Humboldt ones. Its a comprehensive 100% solution other than CalMag and H2O2.

Thanks for the reply, My veg ones are about 2 weeks and I set them up at around 800 PPM. My other 15 that had the slime problem is at 1200. At first they were at like 1200 and 1500 because that's what someone told me to do but I was like hell no... So I re-mixed nutrients a little weaker. Hopefully by not adding any calmag I fixed the problem, and I'm using well water rather than RO. I'm going to have to try RO water again though, I don't want $300 just to go to waste..

No more hygrozyme for you!!! LOL seriously shit did the same thing to me. you need to clean your system. Bleach and h2o2. then you need ot only run the base nutes, no organics. the Fungi love the organics. the leaf spotting there is a cal mag def. easy to fix if your roots can access the solution. this shit is the reason im looking to get away from dwc. aeroponics is next.

I'm battling this slime with all of my plants now and I just went through most of them again trying to make sure there is no slime. The plants are looking bad and they were all over 1000ppm so I dumped the buckets and put my veg plants at around 600ppm and all my ones that are like 4 weeks old at 700ppm because they look all shitty and I've messed with them so much past week they're probably pissed at me.

Here's what they look like.

Man I wish they just looked normal. I put all of the big ones at 700ppm with just the humbolt 3-part, ended up being like 20ml of each part, and then some silica blast stuff.

Anybody have some tips on what I should do?

Tips: Do nothing! You've corrected the problem. Now you need *time* to see changes.

Look at the little plants in there, see how they are nice and green? The big ones will look like that shortly too, just give em time. The worse thing you can do after fixing something is to continue to change stuff around......

BY the way, if your PPM is high, you dont have to start over. Just add water, water is ppm down.

I used physan 20, its a badass viricide/algicide and it killed it for me. I also use dutchmaster ZONE in small doses. I suggest you try to fix this with ZONE, peroxide, or something similar. I would only go the heisenburg tea route as a last resort. with low ppm's and rez temps in the upper 60's you should be on the path to no more slime. physan 20 is cheap, but hazardous. Zone is not too spendy and has worked great for me.

EDIT+ research kitty may be correct that you have already fixed this. use an algeacide next week if you still think you have rot. A little Zone never hurts though.

Thanks for leaving me a reply, I'll try and get some of this as soon as I see any more signs of slime. I hope I got rid of it. I just keep changing the res's every day with clean water.
