Did I Fim correctly?

Ok so I topped the plant, and it split into 2, then after they grew out a little more I topped the 2 that broke off so ideally now the 2 branches that sprouted from the top will become 4 colas, I heard of multiple ways to do this and that was suppose to be the easiest, but I just read somethings online and they had different methods. Just curious if I am good to go

Topping is the acting of cutting the main stem away and making the hormones pour into the 2 left over stems and they become colas, and I know there are multiple ways to make 4 colas, but what I did was then top the 2 that branched off again. The other way is you let it grow to like 4-6 nodes, then cut it above the 2nd node which I am assuming the huge amount of hormones the plant was use to producing then runs through the 4 main stems left off the 2 nodes and turns them into colas. But alot of people dont like that method since you are cutting off weeks of growth even tho you can clone the cut off. Since its my first grow I played it safe and did the first method

A few strains react negatively to topping but almost all just keep growing.

You have nothing to worry about

Best wishes

You topped your plants, you did not FIM. (AKA: "Fuck I Missed")
FIM is done by just barely removing the growing tip without actually cutting the stem. The idea is to slow apex growth briefly which will allow side/lower branches to catch up. FIM (ing) a plant will not produce multiple main cola's - that's what topping does.

ok lol topping or fimming do exactly the same thing push the main cola hormones to other lower nodel sites, side branch growth is not a issue if you got the light needed, although topping or fimming will produce more colas of smaller size but in higher numbers, timing is inportant with either practice as it can stunt the growth and yeild

If you FIM correctly you will still retain your main apex cola, topping on the other hand is done to (hopefully) produce multiple "main" cola's.
