Nitrogen problem????

I am working on my first grow...I am doing this with a friend....Our plants started showing nitogen problems 1 month into flowering....on most of the plants the middle to top leaves are yellow, my friend says that we are not giving them nitrogen because it makes the flavor bad.....I feel that a healthy plant is a green plant....I think that he just doesnt want to admit that he is wrong....I could understand yellowing in the last couple weeks, but not for most of flowering??? do you guys think he is feeding me a line of bullshit......does nitrogen during flowering give a bad taste???? By the way, we are going our seperate ways after this harvest:confused:

Also want to add that this same person suggested that we dry our meds in the oven, I guess that kind of answers my own question...LOL

Dont forget to tell ur friend someone said to shit on the plants every other day for foilage feed, cut all the leaves off because they grow faster that way

Temps, PH, everything is perfect.......he claims we are not giving them nitrogen because it will ruine the flavor.......

as for 110 pound hottie that would be my wife.....sorry no nude pics, dont want you to have a heart attack

Your buddy knows best so i doubt you should waste ur time reading and asking for advice, far as a heart attack,,, highly doubt that to, had my fair shair of psychos in my life and everyone knows they are the best fucks to be had and would not do some of them things to a girl you would want as a house wife, and if ya did good luck with that

n def causes yellowing on bottom first. if this is not the case thne it's not n def. it's always good to flush and feed again.

Dudes asking for help, If you can't give worthy advice, just don't answer. Micro check the ph and alkalinity of your water and adjust as needed. Your plant doesn't need a lot of nitrogen during bloom because the plant needs more phosphorus. But it still needs small amounts of nitro. Still need pictures to be sure.

doesn't sound like nitrogen def. usually nitrogen def. starts at the lower leaves and moves upwards.

we'd need pics to tell you more accurately. check your pH. what is it? you want it in the 6.3-6.8 range in soil. if its 7 or higher that could be the problem.

Also don't listen to your friend. obviously they are retarded. Nitrogen doesnt effect the taste or do any other nutes. if you want to get rid of bad tastes what you wanna do is flush or discontinue nute feedings 10-14 days before you cut the buds down. thats how the rest of us do it. we don't NOT feed nitrogen because it effects the taste. any plant that is given ANY chemical nutes will taste like shit if you feed all the way up to the day of the chop. all you gotta do is feed plain water only for the last 1.5-2wks.

also..DONT DRY YOUR BUDS IN THE OVEN! thats a HUGE mistake. its gonna lose potency, its gonna smell/taste bad, and its gonna be dry as all hell and turn to powder when you try to break it down for a J.

To dry the buds you wanna use a 3 part system...hang them up in the dark until the outside of the bud feels dry/flakey but the inside is still kinda wet when you pinch the bud. (this usually takes 2-3 days if your room is at about 50% humidity).

then place the buds in paper grocery bags. roll the bag closed. every so many hours open the bag...allow the buds to air out for 10-20 mins roll the bag back up. dont forget to shake the buds around so pieces that have been exposed to a lot of moisture get a chance to resettle and dry a bit.

then a few days after that you can move them into mason jars and do pretty much same thing you did with the grocery bags (open, close, shake repeat etc)

hope this helps.

also grow by urself or a find a new grow partner. someone who says those types of things obviously doesn't know what they're doing. im no expert but ive been growing my own bud for 4-5 years and i see lots of bad advice like whats been passed onto you. if your buddy doesnt believe me then have him get on a mj forum and look around for himself.

also you want to get a strong magnifier to see the trichs (little crystals on the buds/leaves that look like sugar) and discontinue nutes when the trichs are mostly milky and harvest when you see 20-30% amber trichs (trichs are clear = not ready...milky/cloudy = almost ready....first signs of amber trichs = done! chop it down)

You wouldn't happen to have some pics of this would you? (trichs turning amber)

you'll need something at least 30x magnification to see them clearly. the higher magnification the better. a typical magnifying glass wont work. youll need a jeweler's loupe or something similar.

dont let it get more than 50% amber. amber trichs are a sign that the trichs are degrading so when you see 20-30% its usually a good time to harvest.

trichs are what get you high btw (in case you don't know). so never harvest when most of them are clear. you want them at least all milky but its best to wait until you have at least SOME of the trichs turning amber.

oh i forgot to mention that the bud is usually ready starting at the top of the plant and then moving downward.

you can harvest a whole plant at once but i like to harvest them as they are ready. even if you have amber trichs on the main cola chances are the lowest buds are still mostly clear or just barely turning milky.

just something to consider but its not mandatory.
