MICHIGAN – A group that wants to legalizemarijuana in Michigan has started an effort to get a measure before voters in November 2012.
The group planned to hold an organizing event Thursday night in Ann Arbor. A draft version of their petition reads they seek to amend the state constitution to make marijuana legal for people 21 and older.
More than 300,000 signatures from registered voters in Michigan would be needed to put that question on a state-wide ballot.MICHIGAN –

the ballot initiative will be held during a michigan game, and their is no need to copy n paste 3 times...and technically, this ballot wont do anything but pass the burden from state enforcement to govt enforcement...its all in the wording of the ballot. itll pass most likely, but wont do much positive on a federal level, itll just make feds come harder here in michigan.

I think Decriminalization would be better until the federal prohibition is ended.
i disagree.. would rather pay taxes to the umbrella of the state... that way they can't come at us like they did al copone and the likes for tax evasion/money laundering

Nobody said change was easy. And just for the record if you're scared go to church we need people with a backbone to fight for what man has safely consumed for about 5000 years. Things usually have to get worse before they get better. ;)

I sure hope we could get this done. We need much better turnouts at all elections. Why did we let Schutte in the door? Everyone knew about his personal vendetta against cannabis. What happened to the recall campaign? I am sure that cannabis users are the majority in the state but we let ourselves get railroaded. Why?

Don't get me wrong, I'll vote for it. It just seems that we have enough trouble with the Federal government attacking Medical Marijuana dispensaries... the people who open up stores to sell cannabis for recreational use will be painting a bullseye on their chest.

Yup plus it could cause heat on the medical mj field, it would bring the feds rite in. Who said they were allowed to tell the people what we can and can not put into our bodies? Shuttees ass will be out soon enough did you sign the petition? I would like to see what the full annarbor petition says before i sign it. seems too good to be true.

Yeah, I definitely would like to see the fine print before voting for it.

IMO, decriminalization would have a better chance of passing while leaving nothing for the Feds to come after(Store Fronts).

Rite and we all know that's not going to happen. They flipped out when we had a reason. One good thing is it would take attention away from medical growers.

You know there is a lot of bs about me and my agendas on this site so ill tell you. My brother died from cancer when he was 12 years old. They nuked him with full body radiation back in the 80s gave him steroids, and chemo. I think all of those can cause cancer. they killed him. A boy at 12 years old after a bone marrow extraction, asks the drs to take one more sample of bone marrow for research. That's a ballzy boy at 12 so I think I need to do this for him and everyone else. Its up to us knowledgeable people to to make the best of this thing. Its better than having the skin burned off your face.

Let's do this Michiganders! We can get this done. We're gonna be the first state to do it. Once we do it other's will follow our lead. Then we're gonna start having real discussions on the national level. Let's end this reefer madness.
