When is the best time to water?

its about a 50/50 split as to the "proper" time to water a plant...there is no real answer to this since grow mediums and conditions vary so much. If your grow is in a very humid area its not a good idea to water towards the beginning of the dark period as the moisture stays longer and the humidity raises up even higher at "night", but if you are in a very dry climate like I am(20% humidity at the moment), I water towards the end of the light period so it helps raise the humidity in the grow area a little bit during the night time(not alot...like 8-10%).

ya i would say right after the lights come on. thats when they start pulling up water. which is why some say harvest in the mornings so less water has been pulled up into the plant.

I wait 3 hours to water after the lights pop on, by that time it looks like it dries out descent enough for the next watering, that's for cocofiber. For hydroponics I water 20 minutes after the light pops on and once in the mid of light cycle, a third an hour before lights out, then a fourth in the middle of the night to keep the roots from drying out.

Humidity spikes up when lights go out, so I water first thing in the morning. Right after the power goes on.
