Alright PJ, I know you got so much cool knowledge from what you've read, but quit getting all butt hurt and providing totally false info.
Most strains that are said to be clone only simply means that the original breeder isn't selling his seeds anymore. The guy I got the OG Kush from has been growing it since the mid 90s (about 3-5 years after its creation) when it was still widely available in seed form and been breeding it with itself ever since. Every year he has at least 50 OG plants, not because he likes it, but because that shit sells. It's a fucking gold mine, why would he stop? Now, he doesn't sell his seeds, because he can make way more money off of a "clone only strain." So he keeps the seeds for himself and starts over each season, there's really nothing like growing a strain from seed, it's way better every time. Once you start growing you'll understand this.
Any strain originating in Asia will have ruderalis in it. Maybe the auto isn't dominate in all of the seeds originating from Thailand, I don't really care, but it's there. To say all bud from an entire region of the world is hermy prone is fucking moronic. Yes herm issues have to do with genetics, but do you realize exactly how much Thai stick (what I think you meant by Thai, which is ruderalis btw, and came as sensimilla back in the 60s and 70s so there were no herm genetics) there is? And how many different sub strains there are of it (phenos). Obviously you don't.
To the OP, be careful about what OG you buy. There were two different types of OG coming out of the LA region, and one is different than the other. Ocean Grown Kush is probably what you want, and it's not that easy to find. Start trimming for outdoor growers with BIG crops and new opportunities will arise for you, but not too many still grow Ocean Grown Kush. Original Gangster Kush is a different strain completely, and lots of people call it a knock off. I personally think it's almost as good if not just as good, but people are fucking picky about their OG.
