Is it a grassroots enviornmental campaign, going door to door?
There are all kinds of different positions...They said 8-13$ an hour.
I'm sure there is canvassing, but they said they'll tell me what all I might be doing, at the interview tomorrow...:D

That sucks. Good luck. ;(

Be careful about those people they're a bunch of weirdos. They'll offer you things to take you on a van ride for hours then dump you out in the middle of nowhere with a map that you can't read.

You'll probably be abducted by aliens too.

I just don't want to work there.

I've got a job tomorrow probably.
Doing random environmental shit :D

I'm not in THAT much need of a job, there are plenty of other places to work than that one place.
I'm not cutting my hair for them

And removing piercings, and covering tattoos is way different than cutting your hair.
It's more like NEVER putting the piercing in again.
Or having to get tattoo laser removal, or else your fired.

And I'm not a smelly hippie.
Never said you were. If you can hold out for a better job more power to ya. But I know plenty of people that refuse to "conform" as they put it and would rather starve. Seems stupid.

And I've removed plenty of piercings on my own will knowing that if I want a good job they would need to go. They cool growing up but now I'm an adult.

Wait.
What happens?
Really? Like what do they offer??

Oh, I'm not worried about not conforming. I'm just me.
I promised myself that I would get dreadlocks when I was 14, because jail, and other places kept shaving my head.

And if I lie to little me, then who can trust me at the age I am now?

I never got any.
I pierced my lip a lot in like 9th or 10th grade.
But my mom never let me keep it. I had to start over daily.

But I have an interview to work for the environment tomorrow.
They pay almost 2x as much, AND it's in the city. So no one will be judging my looks at the interview, everyone walking around the city is a bum. Almost literally.
you're going to be one of those annoying people with a clip board standing on the street corner bothering everyone.

:cuss:

I guess...But I would have just been at a cash register had they not been so discriminant.

Don't hate though, I'd rather run into me than any other dick heads...Like what if a Hipster or a Mormon had a clipboard? :D
If you see a Shaggy stoner with a clipboard, ask if I've got bud :D

Saw one of these working there. It's not an actual 'grass roots environmental effort' as it is some kind of training program.

Someone who worked there told me to mess with people by saying "goat head" and sign on the dotted line.

I was 17 during this time of my life, I thought it was strange how no one cared if I was in bars with them too.

it is my opinion that any establishment offering less than 10/hr to start should be more worried about their turnover rate than some guy's hairdo. as if the patrons of burger king or walmart are the snobby type.

drug tests to mix paint, haircuts to press metal...i don't get it. if your hair isn't going to get caught in moving parts and you keep it clean and combed, and wear a net around food, i don't see what the big fucking deal is. short order cooks spend all day sweating into the food whether they have hair or not and no one makes them wear anti-perspirant (around here, anyway).

i think in a few years time something has to change. establishments are slowly realizing that dime-a-dozen college degrees and slick haircuts aren't getting them ahead of the pack. a lot of places are starting to relax dress codes and promote from within. i can't tell you how many off-the-street supervisors with degrees have been hired over far more qualified existing employees without degrees at some of my jobs. the chaos that ensues is awful. it's like people are using a business model from the 80's and are more interested in public bragging than actual results.
